Presenting Telerobotic Surgical Technology, Regional Secretary Dewa Indra Attends the Opening of the UAA Congress

BADUNG, Balitopnews.com - Regional Secretary of Bali Province, Dewa Made Indra, attended the opening of the Urological Association of Asia (UAA) Congress which was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on Thursday ( September 5, 2024) evening.
The congress, which was held on 5-8 September 2024, was a collaboration between UAA and the Indonesian Urological Association (InaUA), and was attended by more than 3,000 urologists from 60 countries, especially from Asia. In addition, 21 international urological societies and 8 national urological organizations participated. In his online remarks, the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, explained that Indonesia is committed to continuing to develop a broader health system and services. "President Joko Widodo gave a mandate to continue to reform and expand access to health for the community, especially since Indonesia has thousands of islands spread out," he said.
He also hopes that the meeting will produce important innovations, especially in the field of urological medicine. "Happy congress, and thank you for choosing Bali as host," said the Minister of Health. Meanwhile, UAA President, Yasser Farhat, said that this congress would present in-depth discussions in the fields of uro-oncology, androurology, reconstructive urology, endourology, neurourology, pediatric urology and women's urology. "We are committed to continuing to develop urology in Asia and narrowing the gap in standards of urological care in each country," he said. One of the highlights at the opening of the UAA Congress was a live demonstration of the latest technology in telerobotic surgery (surgery that can be performed remotely), which was carried out at RSUP Prof. Dr. IGNG Ngoerah to Udayana University Hospital (Unud) by a team of robotic urology experts led by Prof. Dr. Agus Rizal Ardy Hariandy Hamid, SpU(K-Onk), FICRS, PhD. It is hoped that this long-distance operation can eliminate distance and geographical barriers, especially in Indonesia and Asian countries, in order to distribute excellent health services.
