Interest Indonesian People Still Low in Reading Book

Interest in reading the book by Indonesian people is still low . It was based on data from The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2015 which mentions interest in reading Indonesian people in 1000 compared to 21. This means that from 1000 Indonesian only 21 people who regularly read books.
The statement was expressed by Chairman Library Republic of Indonesia Dra Hj Sri Sularsih Msi while attending a national movement reading in Tabanan, Monday ( 28/3 )
She said, that data in 1000 versus 21 it was better than the previous data stating interest in reading Indonesian people in 1000 to 1 . Indonesian people would rather watch television than read a book . Because based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2012 , the Indonesian people who like to watch television as much as 91.6 percent . While the Indonesian people who like to read books only 17.66 percent
She said that read can be developed early on. Starting from the family environment . " By reading the book , our knowledge will increase a lot , " She explained .
