Governor of Bali Wayan Koster Affirms That Bali Ghost City News Is Not Right

Balitopnews.com, BADUNG - Bali tourism is still crowded, tens of thousands of tourists both domestic and foreign are still visiting Bali. This shows that Bali is still the best tourism destination in the world. Bali is still comfortable, and interesting to be visited by tourists amid the corona virus outbreak that struck Wuhan, China. This was said by the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster after attending the launch of the 2020 Calendar of Event in Banjarmasin City, at Double Six Beach, Kuta, Badung on Saturday night (February 22, 2020).

"Don't believe in the news in some media that says Bali is a ghost town. The news about Bali being a ghost town I emphasize is not true, because what we see now, Bali tourism is still living," Koster said  in an interview with journalist .

At the end of the interview, Koster invited the world community not to be afraid to come to Bali, because until now Bali is still safe and he hopes that the Corona virus disaster can be overcome soon.

While related to the launch of the Banjarmasin tourism event calendar, the Governor from the village of Sembiran, Tejakula, Buleleng said that the tourism sector should continue to be built as the tourism sector becomes the leading sector that is most quickly felt by the community in boosting economic growth. Currently the tourism sector continues to surge and even now ranks second after oil and gas as the country's foreign exchange earner.

"Tourism that is well managed and maintained will never run out unlike other natural resources. To develop tourism, all regions in Indonesia must synergize with one another. One day Banjarmasin is also expected to be able to advance tourism like Bali," he concluded.

Meanwhile Major of  Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina expressed his appreciation for the development of Bali's tourism, although many issues hit tourism still exist.

Ibnu Sina said that Banjarmasin has a thousand rivers and is a city with the most beautiful rivers in Indonesia. For this reason, he is optimistic that the natural and cultural potential of the tourism sector can be a driving force for economic growth in the region.

With the launch of the Calendar of Even 2020 in Bali, Ibn Sina hopes that it will become a good starting point for efforts to build a Banjarmasin branding and is a momentum to learn tourism directly from the world tourism center, Bali.

The launching of the Calendar of Even 2020 in the city of Banjarmasin on this evening was also filled with Banjarmasin craft exhibitions, arts and cultural performances.
