Governor of Bali Wayan Koster Attends Melaspas Bumi Sudha and Mecaru Melasti Area Ceremony in Pedungan Custom Village

On that occasion Governor Koster said that this melasti place was a historical place which had been fought together. For that reason, every development in Bali must be in harmony with nature, humans and culture, " Governor Koster said. "This melasti place is a part of Benoa Harbor which was developed in a design. Coordinate with the president director and the board of directors of Pelindo III to be integrated and intact, to become a world-class region. In line with what we hope is owned by Bali, where its existence can support the course of tourism while also supporting national infrastructure development, " Koster explained.

Regarding the design, Governor Koster emphasized that he had undergone many stages of preparation including listening to input from the indigenous Pedungan village community and being realized through the construction of this ceremonial and melasti place. "I immediately jumped into the concept and design of the development of this Benoa region, also involving Hindu priest, Balinese architects, agricultural experts to become a port that contains the value of Balinese local wisdom philosophy and put forward Balinese architecture," Governor Koster added.

He also said, this development was the result of coordination with Mr. Pelindo III Managing Director and BUMN Minister. "I tried to really convince him and Astungkara (genah melasti, red) to be built on 1 hectare of land," Koster  said. This melasti site is targeted to be completed by the end of February before Nyepi and in the future can be reorganized, facilities and supporters to be in harmony with the urban forest plan and other facilities. It really can be a good area. In the future, Benoa Harbor will be the most beautiful port in the world. It was presented before the 6th DPR RI commission and all of them gave their appreciation. Also witnessed by the Minister of SOEs, the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Tourism. Only one in Indonesia is a beautiful harbor like this.

Development at Benoa Harbor is needed to support tourism in Bali, as part of integrated land-sea-air infrastructure development. "Therefore, the development plan from the center must be in sync with our vision and mission in Bali to be harmonious and in line with nature and its people. Astungkara can be run well, "Governor Koster said. Benoa Port will be supported by a stand area for craftsmen and small and medium enterprises and equipped with urban forests with the target of completion in 2023. "Let's jointly support the development of the Benoa Port so that it can be completed on time. It is our common interest, solely so that the development of the central government can provide broad benefits, " Governor Koster said , adding that the region could also 'live' with art activities and other community activities, if necessary every day.

Meanwhile Pelindo III Managing Director, Doso Agung said that his party consistently supports development that preserves the preservation of customs and culture. "If all the governors could be like the Governor of Bali, I think all problems in the community would be over," he said. He stressed, the Benoa port that we will develop, is not only in accordance with the progress of the era and technology, but also environmentally friendly and characterized by Balinese culture.
