"Today is a good moment to do this port ground breaking, because it coincides on Full Moon, so I am thankful that the program is going well and is well guarded by the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi," Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster said at the Port of Nusa Penida , Sampalan.
Wayan Koster said in front of the Nusa Penida community, the Regent of Klungkung , Nyoman Suwirta, Chairperson of the Klungkung House of representative Anak Agung Gde Anom, and Chairperson of the Klungkung domestic prosecutor's office Otto Sompotan that on April 22, 2019, he faced President Joko Widodo at the Jakarta Palace, and when it was conveyed the request for infrastructure development budget assistance. For Munjul Bias Port, Rp. 112,403,019,700 covering shipping line dredging work, Moveable Bridge Pier, Fast Boad Pier, Passenger Terminals and Car and Motorcycle Parking Lots. Furthermore, Secretary of the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Imran Rasyid reported that in the construction of the Sampalan and Bias Munjul Ports, it was originally planned to be completed within one fiscal year, but due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and in the implementation of work it must comply with health protocols, the implementation of work become 2 Fiscal Years with the first year budget stage for Sampalan Port of Rp. 38,980,495,000 and Munjul Bias Port Rp. 37,091,571,571,800. Then in year II for the Sampalan Port of Rp. 49,757,910,000 and Munjul Bias Port Rp. 75,312,448,900.
Hearing this information, the Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi in his remarks said that Bali must be proud to have Wayan Koster, for fighting for Bali and Nusa Penida in particular. As a gift, besides pouring state budget assistance for the construction of the Nusa Penida Port in Sampalan and the Nusa Ceningan Port in Bias Munjul, the Minister of Transportation RI promised to provide ships after the construction of this port was completed in 2021, so that crossing access to and from Nusa Penida proceeded safely and comfortably.
"This is to support the concept of the President who wants to make Bali a super hub for tourism. Hopefully the construction of this port can support tourism in the Nusa Penida region," said the Minister of Transportation, who claimed to have known Nusa Penida since elementary school, when studying earth science (geography, red) which he saw was very interested in the small island in the southeast of the island of Bali.
