DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Chairperson of the Bali Province Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) Putri Suastini Koster continues to strive for various ways so that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can adjust to live a new era of life amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to encouraging the use of digital platforms, he has also raised the concerns of entrepreneurs such as modern market investors or malls who have been active and profitable in Bali, to be able to take an active role in advancing MSMEs by providing wider promotional space.

Putri Koster conveyed this when she was a speaker at the Bali TV delayed broadcast dialogue with the theme 'Building Marketing Cooperation with Modern Markets or Malls', on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Sheadmitted that almost all business sectors, both large, medium and small scale, are now facing the same difficulties because the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is uncertain when it will end. Almost all business sectors are certain to experience marketing constraints to the level of sales which dropped dramatically.

"This pandemic has also invited us to pause for a moment. But remember, we shouldn't be too long. Now is the time for us to get up, start seeing and thinking about what we should do," She said.

In the midst of this concerned situation, the woman who is also known as a seasoned poet has tapped the care of managers of modern markets or malls who have enjoyed the benefits of doing business in Bali to show their concern by embracing local craftsmen.

"I hope that mall managers in Bali can provide space for our MSMEs to market their products, so that craftsmen have more space in carrying out marketing activities," She said.

As Chairman of the Bali Dekranasda, one of the efforts he will undertake is exploring mall associations in Bali to participate in providing marketing space for MSMEs in Bali. According to him, Bali is a destination for world tourism, for that, apart from being a showcase for handicraft products from various archipelago, Bali must also excel with its own local products.

For that we need a good cooperation and collaboration between mall associations with MSMEs in Bali. Putri Koster promised to explore this, so that in the future the malls in Bali will not only be filled with foreign brands, but also filled with local Balinese products.

Furthermore, Putri Koster said that what MSME players really need is not only money, but space. Because with that space, UMKM players will seize opportunities to improve their welfare. He did not want the local Balinese people and craftsmen to only be spectators in their own area, because according to him that was very unfair. In fact, this multitalented artist expressed his hope that someday Bali will have a large and magnificent exhibition building like the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

"We can have the Bali Convention Center. Don't be proud of the exhibition outside, because it could be that we are only the object. I want Bali to be a storefront and become a master in its own area," She stressed.

In addition, related to the adaptation of new habits, Putri Koster also always reminds MSMEs to quickly adjust and take advantage of digital platforms in marketing their products. "Let's learn and enter the market place. Don't be afraid, if you are used to it, this will be more profitable because the products being promoted can be seen by the public around the world. This is different from conventional exhibitions which are only seen by visitors who come to the exhibition room," She said. .

On that occasion, he also asked the Director of Plaza Renon, which has been incorporated in the mall association in Bali, to be able to bridge to realize cooperation between the MSMEs of Bali with malls in Bali. (Gix)
