DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster received a Work Visit  of the DPR RI's Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) to Bali Province led by Deputy Chairman of BKSAP DPR RI Putu Supadma Rudana, at Wiswasabha Utama, Bali Governor's Office, Denpasar, Thursday (April 1, 2021).

The governor, who previously served as a member of the Indonesian Parliament for three terms, expressed his appreciation for the BKSAP visit to Bali, as a form of support for Bali's deteriorating condition amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Previously, we would like to thank you for the presence of BKSAP in Bali. I am sure of course in the context of helping to restore tourist activity to Bali as one of the world's tourist destinations. Bali experienced total paralysis for almost a year during the Covid - 19 pandemic, "Koster said.

Governor Koster, who had a commission with Putu Supadma Rudana in commission X DPR RI, further said that Bali's recovery is highly dependent on the mass vaccination program.

"By the central government, Bali has been promised to receive priority vaccination programs for up to 70% of the total Balinese population. This is the fastest hope for Bali to recover soon, the more vaccinated, the safer the spread. Until now, Bali has received 800 thousand vaccine vials and it has been distributed directly to the public. Especially in the three green zones, namely Ubud in Gianyar, Nusa Dua in Badung, and Sanur in Denpasar. Its implementation was directly monitored by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, went very well. The tourism plan for foreigners in the three regions will open in July, but still see developments in the field. Hopefully it can go as expected, please help BKSAP to participate in guarding the vaccine ration for Bali, "he pleaded.

"This pandemic has also taught us not to rely on sectors like today. In the future, we will also plan the development of other fundamental sectors, such as the industrial and agricultural sectors. Without having to leave the tourism sector, we will also encourage other sectors to be equal and become a source of regional income. We continue to improve the quality of the tourism sector, ” Koster concluded

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the BKSAP DPR RI, Putu Supadma Rudana, said that the visit to Bali this time was to get input and materials to support and lift the economy through tourism for Indonesia, especially Bali.

In the near future, BKSAP will conduct a visit to Morocco, which has the advantage of being close to Europe, which is a center for quality tourists.

"One program that can be developed during the visit will form sister province cooperation with Maroco. As is known, one of the cities of Maracas has a visit rate of 12.3 million foreign tourists per year. The location is adjacent to southern Europe, hopefully this can become a new tourist pocket for Indonesia and Bali. Of course, quality tourists, "Supadma Rudana said

On the other hand, Deputy Chairman of BKSAP DPR RI Mardani Ali Sera conveyed that the Indonesian people at this time must have started to change their paradigm. Indonesian society which is pluralistic with its uniqueness and regional characteristics must begin to be highlighted, in order to attract the interest of evenly distributed tourist visits to each region.

"Indonesia cannot be uniformed, we must start to believe in that. We have to highlight the uniqueness and advantages that exist in each region, "he said while alluding to the advocates of the Draft Law (RUU) on the Bali Provincial Government which is currently in the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) along with 12 other regional bill submissions that are following in Bali's footsteps, and currently waiting for the discussion stage.
