DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster said that 2 positive people with Covid-19 were found infected with a new variant of the Covid-19 virus mutation.
"I have received direct information from the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, on May 3, 2021. One person is positive due to the transmission of a new variant from South Africa with code B.1.351, while one person is positive due to transmission of a new variant from the UK with code B. 1.1.7, "said Koster, Tuesday (May 4, 2021) at Jayasabha, Denpasar.
According to Koster, this was discovered after several samples of positive people for Covid-19 at Sanglah Hospital were tested by the Health Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
One person who tested positive for Covid-19 with a new variant from South Africa, has been declared dead at Sanglah Hospital, comes from Badung Regency.
The victim did not participate in the vaccination program. Meanwhile, another person who tested positive for Covid-19 with a new variant from England was declared cured, in good health and has been discharged from Denpasar City.
The person concerned, happened to have participated in the vaccination program 2 times.
Regarding this case, the Bali Provincial Health Office is conducting an epidemiological investigation of a number of people who had close contact with the victim so that the potential risk of spreading it in detail and completely will be known.
