Governor of Bali Wayan Koster handed over scholarships to 1,501 students from 501 schools

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster handed over scholarships to 1,501 students from 501 schools, starting at the elementary, junior high, high school, vocational, special education and equivalent levels, namely Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS), Madrasah Aliyah (MA) ), both public and private from 9 regencies/cities with a total value of Rp 1.5 billion.

 

Submission of scholarships intended for students who won I, II, and III overall winners in the form of the BPD Bali Student Savings Book (Simpel) to 53 student representatives who were present at the Ksiraarnawa Building, Taman Budaya, Art Center, Denpasar, Wednesday ( October 13, 2021) ).

 

The Governor of Bali conveyed that as an appreciation for the achievements of the students, the Provincial Government of Bali gave an award in the form of a scholarship as a motivation to further improve academic achievement.

 

“I am very proud of your perseverance in following the learning process which ultimately resulted in being the best. You are excellent children, I believe this achievement is not an easy achievement, it takes a long process to achieve it, "he said.

 

In his direction in front of the students, both offline and online, the Governor also shared the story of his life journey from primary school education to becoming the Governor of Bali. Although Koster was born from a poor family, it can even be said that he came from a family below the poverty line, but this did not break the spirit of the members of the DPR RI for these three periods to study hard, never give up and always try to be the best.

 

"Don't just look at my current situation, but look at how my life has gone. When living a difficult life, don't let our mentality fall and be discouraged. Be grateful for your life at this time, especially if your parents are able to add to the state to facilitate it with a good educational ecosystem, then don't waste it. Study hard, be the best, I am sure you will be useful people for society and the country,” he said.

 

This scholarship award is also a Financial Inclusion Program as well as a follow-up to the Governor of Bali's MoU with Bank BPD Bali and the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for Student Savings Savings Synergy (SIMPEL) to support the Indonesian Savings Movement. For SD/SDLB/MI students, the first winner will receive a scholarship of Rp. 1.000.000, second place Rp. 750,000, third place Rp. 500,000. For SMP/SMPLB/MTs students, the first winner is Rp. 1,250,000, second place Rp. 1,000,000, third place Rp. 750,000. Meanwhile, for SMA/SMK/SMALB/MA students, the first winner is Rp. 1,500,000, second place Rp. 1,250,000, third place Rp. 1,000,000. This scholarship is a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from BPD Bali.

 

In the event which was also attended by the Head of the Bali Regional Financial Services Authority Giri Tribroto, the President Director of the Bali Regional Development Bank I Nyoman Sudharma, the Head of the Bali Regional Apparatus who was the Principal of SD/SMP/SMA/SMK/SLB/MI/MTS/MA scholarship recipients as well. attended by 41 participants from the Balinese Script Keyboard Demo from 9 regencies/cities throughout Bali who have also received an appreciation from the Governor of Bali of Rp. 1.000.000.(gix)
