DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster won the 2021 People of the Year award for the Best Governor for Healthcare and Action Against Pandemic category from Metro TV on Wednesday (November 24,2021) night in Jakarta.
The award received by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster is the result of a rigorous selection carried out by 7 Jury consisting of: 1). President Director of Metro TV, Don Bosco Selamun; 2). Chief Editor of Metro TV, Arief Suditomo; 3). Medcom.id CEO, Kania Sutisnawinata; 4). Professor of FISIP UI Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Eko Prasojo; 5). The Chancellor of IPB Bogor, Prof. Dr. Arif Satria; 6). UGM Yogyakarta Epidemiologist, Prof. Dr. dr. Kusnanto Day; and 7). Apindo's general chairman, Hariyadi Sukamdani.
In a LIVE Metro TV broadcast that took place at Grand Studio Metro TV Jakarta, it was stated that, under the leadership of Governor Wayan Koster, Bali has become the first and highest province to carry out Covid-19 vaccinations, the highest in the application of health protocols, and the best in the implementation of Micro PPKM. Then carry out CHSE certification (Cleanlinnes, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability) to hotels in Bali to serve foreign tourists visiting the Island of the Gods. Furthermore, Governor Koster is considered firm in giving sanctions to foreigners, if they are found to have violated health protocols which lead to deportation.
For this award, Koster conveyed that the award he received was the result of collaboration, synergy, and collaboration between the Central Government, Bali Provincial Government, Regency / City Government in Bali, to the ranks at the Village and Traditional Village levels in Bali, to good cooperation with all components of Balinese society. in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wayan Koster is one of the Governors who won People of The Year 2021 along with 8 governors, namely (Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan; Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa; Governor of Bangka Belitung, Erzaldi Rosman Djohan; Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Ali Mazi; Governor of the Islands Riau, Ansar Ahmad; Governor of Jambi, Al Haris; Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil and Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, ed) who received awards in various categories, such as Best Governor for Inclusive Economic Growth, Best Governor for Empowerment & Education, Best Governor for Healthcare and Action Against Pandemic, and Best Governor for E-Gov & Digital Innovation.
