SEMARAPURA, Balitopnews.com - Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati who is familiarly called Cok Ace on behalf of the Provincial Government of Bali congratulated the holding of the 2023 Semarapura Festival which was held as a series of the 115th Puputan Klungkung Day and the 31st Anniversary of Semarapura City. "This is a happy day and the implementation of this festival is a strategic and appropriate step in efforts to preserve Balinese culture, especially in Klungkung and provide space for local MSMEs," Cok Ace said when opening the 2023 Semarapura Festival in front of the Ida Dewa Agung Jambe Monument, Semarapura City, Klungkung on Friday (28 April 2023) evening.
Klungkung Regency, especially according to the Cok Ace, is a strategic district, with a long history. "I am proud of this, the people of Klungkung should also be prouder," he said alluding to the history of the Gelgel Kingdom which at that time was the center of the kingdom in Bali and the golden age of this kingdom was created during the reign of Dalem Waturenggong.
Furthermore, Cok Ace also mentioned that Klungkung's position and background were so strategic that the Provincial Government of Bali determined the area which is famous for Serombotan cuisine as the location for the establishment of the Bali Cultural Center (PKB), whose construction is currently underway. "If the PKB is completed later, God willing, in 2025, it will certainly absorb a lot of workers. So I invite young people, younger siblings and other members of the community to prepare themselves to support and take part in the operation of PKB. Don't just be spectators," he said. "Once again, congratulations on the anniversary of Semarapura City and Klungkung Puputan Day. Let's build a New Era of Bali together," Cok Ace concluded.
Meanwhile, The Regjent of Klungkung I Nyoman Suwirta explained that the 2023 Semarapura Festival, which was carried out collectively with all OPDs and stakeholders up to local artists, was a sign of Klungkung's awakening from the pandemic that had hit for 3 years. "The goal is to provide space for local MSMEs, artists, young people, and the whole community to channel their creativity," Suwirta Said.
Semarapura Festival 2023 will be held for 4 days, from Friday (28/4/2023) to Monday (1/5/2023) by presenting several cultural attractions. For example, the performance of solah barong sebarung, the performance of gong kebyar for children, adults and women. Including various exhibitions and entertainment. Also present at the opening procession were Penglingsir Puri Agung Klungkung Ida Dalem Semaraputra, Head of the Bali BI Office Trisno Nugroho, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Bali Province Komang Sri Marheni, Chairman of the Daily Management of Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) Bali Province I Nyoman Kenak , Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office Tjok Ngurah Pemayun and Forkopimda Klungkung Regency.
