DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Bali Province's Department of Agriculture and Food Security is collaborating with the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture to carry out cross-sector collaboration activities for Rabies Communication, Information and Education (KIE) in commemoration of World Rabies Day 2023. Bali Province, through the Department of Agriculture and Food Security, has the largest target of carrying out IEC, namely greeting 1200 children from 12 elementary schools in Bali.

"Hopefully this activity will have a positive impact on knowledge about rabies among elementary school children in Bali province," Nurul Hadi Ristiyantri explained as the Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Division of the Bali Province Agriculture and Food Security Service, on Wednesday (September  27,  2023)

Nurul also explained that the crucial aim of this activity was to prevent early cases of dog bites and deaths due to rabies in Bali province. "We would like to thank all elementary schools in the province of Bali who have participated in this activity. "As well as all parties who have made this event a success,"  Nurul said while revealing that the facilitators in each school were teachers and co-facilitators from various cross-sector institutions who were trained in collaboration with the Australia Indonesia Health Security Partnership (AIHSP).

WRD 2023, which is celebrated every September 28, holds various series of activities and the peak event of WRD 2023 with the theme "All for 1, One Health for All". The Directorate of Veterinary Public Health, Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Australia Indonesia Health Security Partnership (AIHSP) is providing education regarding rabies to + 5,000 elementary school students in 5 provinces (Bali, South Sulawesi, NTT, Central Java and DI Yogyakarta ). For the Province of Bali, this activity also involved the Denpasar Provincial and City Health Offices, the Denpasar City Education and Youth Department and other cross-sectors, including the Bali Branch of the Indonesian Veterinary Doctors Association (PDHI), IAKMI, OHCC, BBVET, Denpasar Class I Quarantine Center, PKK and Scouts.
