BADUNG, Balitopnews.com - Minister of Environment/Environmental Control Agency Hanif Faisol Nurofiq warning Danone as a producer of bottled drinking water (AMDK) to follow the direction of Bali Governor Wayan Koster. Minister Hanif emphasized that he is ready to take action against Danone. Minister Hanif's ultimatum after he heard directly from Governor Koster that there are still producers who have not approved the Bali Provincial Government regulation  number 9 of 2025 concerning the Bali Clean Waste Movement.

On that occasion, Minister Hanif heard directly when Governor Koster delivered it at the Joint Roll Call and Clean Waste Action event at the celebration of World Environment Day at Baruna Shelter Kuta, Thursday, June 5, 2025.

"We have gathered producers of bottled water, there are 18 producers of bottled water in Bali that we have gathered all of them. All of them support, except for one, I have to say here, this one that has not is Danone which produces Aqua water. We will invite again (Danone, ed),"  Wayan Koster said.  The two-term Governor of Bali said that other producers besides Danone, all have agreed to stop single-use plastic bottled drinks under one liter. Producers will also only finish products that have already been produced until December 2025.

"January 2026 there will be no more plastic beverage packaging under one liter,"  Koster said.

Responding to this, Minister Hanif spoke up and gave a stern warning. He asked business actors to be responsible for their product production and consumption. "As conveyed by the Governor of Bali  there is one producer who does not and has not supported the Governor's efforts towards a clean Bali, I remind you today to immediately follow what the Governor has directed, or you will face the Minister of Environment," Minister Hanif said. In his speech in front of 10 thousand people from the community in Kuta, Minister Hanif also asked the business world, it's time to change and be responsible for production and consumption. Product design must be recyclable and refillable.
"We will strictly enforce this norm, once again please remember that all businesses have no reason to produce plastic that we cannot process that is difficult to recycle, such as small sachet plastic. Let's stop plastic waste in Indonesia. We are not spectators but we are all the determinants of history starting today," he explained.

According to him, today (World Environment Day) is a call not to be aware but to act together. Every small step such as refusing plastic straws, sorting waste, refusing single-use plastic waste, choosing environmentally friendly products will be able to create a wave of big changes in time. "Believe me, the earth does not need us but we need the sustainability of our earth. Let's inherit a clean nature, not inherit a waste crisis for our children and grandchildren," he said.

The celebration of World Environment Day in Kuta was combined with a Joint Roll Call and a Clean-up Action for Waste which was attended by more than 10 thousand people. Also present were the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Deputy Minister of Environment, Deputy Governor of Bali, Regent of Badung and the Bali Forkopimda. (Rls/Btnc)
