DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Bali is once again in the spotlight of the tourism world by being selected as the host of the Inter-Islands Tourism Policy (ITOP) Forum 2025, which will take place on 20–23 June 2025 at The Meru Sanur and Bali Beach Convention.
This international forum brings together ten island regional leaders from various countries who are committed to inclusive and sustainable tourism development. The ten ITOP Forum member regions present this year include: Bali (Indonesia), Cebu (Philippines), Hainan (China), Hawaii (United States), Jeju (South Korea), Okinawa (Japan), Penang (Malaysia), Phuket (Thailand), Southern Province (Sri Lanka) and Zanzibar (Tanzania)
This forum is a strategic forum for governors and policy makers from the island region to exchange knowledge, formulate joint policies, and strengthen collaboration in facing global challenges in the tourism sector. This year's focus is on developing health and wellness-based tourism as an effort to recover post-pandemic while maintaining the sustainability of nature and culture. The series of activities include Working Group Meetings, international seminars, cultural excursions to Ubud, field visits to the Ngurah Rai Forest Park, and dinner on the Phinisi ship on the Sunset Dinner Cruise.
Regional Secretary of Bali Province Dewa Made Indra who was present at the signing of the agreement between members of the ITOP Forum, Sunday (June 22, 2025) said the provincial forum is an island province whose main activity is tourism. "For Bali, this forum has enormous benefits because this forum discusses contemporary themes. Like now discussing wellness tourism, based on nature and culture," he explained. (Rls/Btnc)
