The Governor Bali, Wayan Koster hopes that the 5K and 10K Udayana Running Contest in addition to being able to revive the spirit of community sports, can also be a 'sport tourism' or a promotional event for Bali tourism that can be held in a sustainable manner.

"I hope this program can become an annual 'event'," said the Governor of Bali while attending and releasing participants in the Udayana Run 5K and 10K 2019 in Kuta Beach, Badung Regency, Sunday (August 18, 2019) morning. The competition was held a series of commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia and the 62nd anniversary of Kodam IX / Udayana.

Governor Koster said, Udayana Run 5K and 10K is a very positive activity to live the community's commitment in developing health, as well as being part of tourism promotion.

"Therefore, the activity initiated by Mr. Military Commander is very appropriate to continue to be developed. I, as the Governor of Bali, represent the people of Bali, thank you for this excellent initiation and hope that in the future it will be made an annual activity by Mr. Military Commander " Koster said.

Former members of the Indonesia House of Representatives for the three periods said that this activity in the future would be synergized with other agencies, so that it could become a big activity by involving participants from outside Bali and even foreign countries. "There used to be a very famous Bali 10K, interested by athletes from various countries. Long time gone, now the commander has appeared again. I am very happy and very supportive, "he said excitedly.

Military Commander IX / Udayana Mayjen. Benny Susianto said that the Udayana Run event was very relevant to the theme of the 74th Independence Day of Indonesia, namely 'Advanced Advanced Indonesian HR'. "That superior human resources must be supported by excellent physical condition," he said.

He hopes by promoting Udayana Run activities to promote sports, so that it becomes part of the lifestyle and not just a necessity. "If it becomes a lifestyle, we will not feel tortured to carry out this (run-red) activity," he explained.

The running competition, entitled 'Udayana Run 5K and 10K' in 2019, was attended by thousands of participants from the public, TNI / POLRI and students. Not only from Bali, this activity was also attended by participants from various regions in Indonesia, such as Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara and Java. (Balitopnews.com / Amo Bali)
