The Governor Bali Wayan Koster said he would fully support the implementation of the International Conference and The 10th Congress of the Indonesian Entomological Society which will be held in Bali on 6-9 October 2019.

This was conveyed when Governor Koster received an audience from the Indonesian Entomology Association at the Jayasabha , Denpasar on Friday (6 September 219).

Governor Koster appreciated the convening of a conference of experts and observers of insects, which will be attended by delegations from 7 countries. "I welcome this activity, hopefully it can have a positive impact on Bali. Not only input for knowledge, but also for tourism in Bali," said the Governor. He even suggested that the opening procession and gala dinner be held at Jayasabha.

On the occasion, Prof. Wayan Supartha, who acted as the steering committee reported to Governor Koster, the event would, among other things, discuss the latest technology in pest control without chemical pesticides. "As is now a global issue to reduce the use of chemical pesticides, thereby reducing the level of contamination of harmful substances in food and the environment," Supartha said.

Taking the theme 'Learning from the Past, Adapting for the Future: Advancements in Ethnoentomology and Entomological Sciences for Food Security and Health', according to Supartha, the conference will present several keynote speakers from America, France, Australia, Malaysia and Japan.

"In addition, Balinese socio-culture will also be a subject such as the philosophical values ​​in the Oleg Tamulilingan dance," Supartha said.
