The meeting which was chaired by Bali Provincial Secretary Dewa Made Indra in the Praja Sabha Room of the Bali Governor's Office on Monday (January 27, 2020) involved elements of district / city health, tourism, security and the Port Health Office (KKP) as the front guard in charge of detecting tourists who enter Bali.

On that occasion, Dewa Indra who was accompanied by the Head of Bali Provincial Health Office Dr. Ketut Suarjana stressed that until now the corona virus had not been detected in Bali. Because medically to mention suspect there are a number of criteria that must be met. In addition to showing physical symptoms such as fever, cough, cold sore throat and pneumonia, a person can be called suspect corona if he has a history of going to China or an infected region / country within 14 days before symptoms appear. In addition, the person may contact a corona confirmed case or visit a health facility in a country where corona infection has been reported.

Although until now a new virus with code 2019-nCoV has not been detected in Bali, but it still prepares control measures and procedures for handling in accordance with the SOP set by the Ministry of Health. Currently there are a number of referral hospitals for corona management, namely Sanglah Hospital, Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar and Tabanan Hospital.

In another part, Dewa Indra also expressed concern over the emergence of a new virus that in recent weeks caught international attention. For the Bali Region, the emergence of this disease is not only worrying from a health perspective, but it will also affect the tourism sector. Therefore, Dewa Indra emphasized the importance of optimizing prevention efforts so that this disease would not enter Bali. "We tighten supervision at the entrances such as airports and ports," he said. In addition, he really hopes that media cooperation will report the case proportionally. To regulate the traffic of information so as not to be confused, Dewa Indra appointed the Head of the Bali Health Office Ketut Suarjaya as a spokesman in charge of providing information related to the development of the corona virus in the Bali Region.

Meanwhile, Bali Health Office Dr. Ketut Suarjaya explained the global situation of the corona virus until 25 January 2020 with the number of cases reaching 1,320 and has spread in a number of countries namely China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, Nepal, France and the United States. "All cases recorded have a history of travel to Wuhan. Even the latest developments that I monitored last night, the case has reached 2019, spread in 14 countries, "he added. Suarjaya said, until now there has been no vaccine for the corona virus because it was only discovered in 2019. "The treatment is supportive according to the symptoms," he added.
