This was revealed when he received the Vietnam Ambassador's visit to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang at the Bali Governor's Office, Renon, Denpasar on Tuesday ( January 28, 2020 ).

"I am very pleased with the future cooperation plans with Vietnam, especially in the field of tourism. Moreover, recently new flight routes were opened from Vietnam directly to Bali. Certainly it will further strengthen the cooperation between the two parties, " Governor Koster said.

In principle, Governor Koster said that Bali is very open to opportunities for cooperation in various fields, especially the number of Vietnamese tourist visits lately continues to increase.

"We in Bali are actively working to rebuild Balinese tourism based on culture. We are rebuilding the quality of our tourism, including its supporting infrastructure, "Koter said.

"Of course, we hope more and more tourists from Vietnam will travel to Bali in the future," he added.

According to the Chairperson of the DPD PDIP Bali province, the Island of the Gods has not yet demonstrated its best potential and capacity as a tourist destination, there are still many areas that can be explored and developed.

"Maybe only 30 percent of Bali's tourism potential is known at this time. Which mostly accumulates in southern Bali. There are still many areas , North, West and East that can be developed further. Specifically with the country of Vietnam, Governor Koster said that the country known as the Uncle Ho country nickname had emotional closeness with Indonesia and Bali specifically, especially when speaking of the figure of the first President / Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno who was known to have good relations with the figure of Ho Chi Minh, figure of the Vietnamese revolution. "There is a historical memory between the two countries and this good relationship was pioneered by Bung Karno and Ho Chi Minh in the past," he said.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang said that Bali is now a favorite tourist destination for middle-class Vietnamese citizens, which has increased rapidly in recent years. "For this reason, we decided to open new flight routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City directly to Bali, seeing the great interest of our citizens to visit Bali. In 2019, there were 4 to 5 thousand Vietnamese tourists traveling and traveling to Bali, "explained Ambassador Vinh Quang. "And that number is 50 percent of the total number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Indonesia," he added.

In 2020, according to Ambassador Vinh Quang, direct flights to and from Vietnam will increase considering that several Indonesian airlines are exploring the opening of several additional routes. "Guaranteed, in the future more and more Vietnamese tourists will come to Bali," promised Ambassador Vinh Quang.

The Vietnamese side also, according to Vinh Quang, will hold a series of exhibitions of photographs and documentary films commemorating the 60th anniversary of relations between the two countries marked by the visit of President Ho Chi Minh to Indonesia on 27 February - 8 March 1959 and President Sukarno visited Vietnam 3 months later on June 24-29, 1959.
