Open the Bali Language Month, Governor of Koster Invites Young Generation Don't be bored with Balinese language

Balitopnews.com, DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster invites all of the Balinese manners, especially the younger generation, so they don't get bored using Balinese in their daily lives.

The invitation was conveyed by the Governor of Koster when he opened the implementation of the Balinese Language Month at the Ksirarnawa Stage, Taman Budaya Art Center Denpasar on Saturday (February 1, 2020)

"Learning English is necessary, Japanese is necessary, Chinese is also necessary, but Balinese is even more important. It should not be left behind as time goes on as part of Balinese civilization and culture, " Governor Koster said.

Governor Koster stated that the Bali Language Month is a priority program run by the Provincial Government of Bali which aims to preserve and strengthen the existence of Balinese language, script and literature. "This event is also at the same time as the implementation of the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali program, through the Universe Planning Program towards a New Era of Bali," Koster said.

He called Balinese as a binder of Balinese culture and society, which became the identity and identity of the Balinese people. "For that reason, Balinese is also one of the bases for the Bali development plan," he said.

According to the former members of the House of Representatives of the three periods, in the midst of today's global development with advances in science and technology that if not addressed properly, has the potential to erode local people's awareness of the Balinese language and script. For this reason, special policies and steps are needed to maintain and strengthen the existence of Balinese language, script and literature in the midst of the current era.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Provincial Government of Bali described Governor Koster had taken various steps to ensure the existence of Balinese language and script remained steady in the community. Among others through the Governor's Regulation (Pergub) Bali Number 80 Year 2018 concerning Protection and Use of Balinese Language, Literacy and Literature. "One of them is by requiring office signs to attempt to use Balinese script, with a position above the Latin letters. It also includes the implementation of the Balinese Month every February, "he explained.

 

He hopes that the Bali Language Month can be run and permeated by all members of the community, especially school students, children and teenagers. "Learn to preserve Balinese language, script and literature to restore Bali's position as Padma Bhuana, as the center of world civilization," he concluded.

 

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cultural Service of the Province of Bali, I Wayan ‘Kun’ Adnyana explained that the event, which was held for the second time, was among others preceded by the Lontar Emergency Festival with a mass Balinese script which was attended by 2,020 participants. That is, this is a universal movement that involves layered components of society, ranging from extension workers, educators, students, to the general public.

 

This ISI Denpasar academic added, organizing the Bali Language Month in 2020 took the theme of 'Celebrating the Bali Language Month Honestly Atma Kertih'. This theme contains a vision to glorify and purify the soul or atma. The activities for the month of Balinese Language for a full month from 1 to 27 February 2020 2020. Includes 14 cultural arts performances, 5 gatherings involving Balinese literary writers and instructors, 15 exhibitions based on creative industries, development and promotion of Balinese language, script and literature.
