Governor of Bali Wayan Koster: Need to Watch Out, Now Local Transmission Covid-19 is dominated by People Without Symptoms or OTG

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com. Bali Governor Wayan Koster stressed that at present, the case of local transmission (TL) Covid-19 is dominated by people without symptoms (OTG), which reached 840 people. According to him this needs to be watched out for by making systematic and progressive efforts so as to quickly be able to find out people who have the potential to be infected.



 

This was emphasized when he held a virtual face-to-face meeting with the heads of sub-districts, lurahs and Perbekel throughout Bali, Wednesday 1 June 2020.


 

"Don't let the OTG spread to others, triggering new cases. Related to the addition of COVID-19 data, the man who also serves as Chairman of the PDI-P DPD Bali paid attention to the top three districts / cities with the highest number of cases, namely Denpasar 539 cases, Badung Regency 187 cases and Klungkung Regency 162 cases, "Koster explained. 


 

The virtual face-to-face meeting was attended by 679 participants consisting of sub-district heads, village heads and supplies from their respective locations scattered throughout Bali.

 

On that occasion Governor Koster conveyed an apology because since the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first time he had a face-to-face meeting with the officials who spearheaded the implementation of programs related to COVID-19 countermeasures.

 

Adjusting to the health protocol COVID-19, face-to-face is implemented virtually by utilizing technological advancements.

 

On that occasion Governor Koster conveyed an apology because since the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first time he had a face-to-face meeting with the officials who spearheaded the implementation of programs related to COVID-19 countermeasures.


 

"If you look closely, there is a change in the pattern in the addition of COVID-19 positive cases. At the beginning, positive cases were dominated by imported cases brought by Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from Bali who were repatriated by companies where they worked abroad, but later the addition the case is dominated by local transmission, "he explained.

 

Accumulatively, data as of 30 June 2020, Bali recorded positive COVID-19 numbers of 1493 cases, consisting of 291 PMI, 53 outside the region, 1132 local transmissions and 17 cases of foreigners. Of these, as many as 798 people or 53.45 percent have been declared cured, 681 people or 45.61 percent are still in care and patients died as many as 14 people or 0.94 percent. 

 

As noted by Governor Wayan Koster, local transmission cases are dominated by people without symptoms (OTG), which reached 840 people. According to him this needs to be watched out for by making systematic and progressive efforts so as to quickly be able to find out people who have the potential to be infected.

 

The highest cases are Denpasar 539 cases, Badung Regency 187 cases and Klungkung Regency 162 cases. Of the three regions, Denpasar City has been in the spotlight because all villages / kelurahan have positive cases.

 

"For Denpasar, everything (red zone) is red. So Denpasar is an area that really needs to get attention, "he said while asking the sub-district head, village head and village head to deal more seriously with COVID-19 under the coordination of the Mayor of Denpasar.

 

To speed up the handling of COVID-19 in Denpasar City, he has spoken with IB Mayor Rai Dramawijaya Mantra so that there are steps that are faster and progressive.

 

To control the spread of COVID-19 in the Capital of the Province of Bali, the Governor asked the subdistrict head, village head and village chief in Denpasar to work hard to prevent the spread of spread through efforts to discipline and control the community in implementing health protocols.
