Bali Provincial Government Issues Support Policy for Post Covid-19 SME Sector

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Pandemic Covid-19 has hit the economic sector in Bali which is dominated by tourism. In addition to the tourism sector, the SME sector has also felt an impact over the past few months in Bali.

 

To help the craftsmen in Bali, the Bali Provincial Government also issued various regulations that are relaxing so as to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.

 

This was conveyed by Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Cok Ace) when becoming one of the panelists in the Covid-19 Government Rountable Series: New, Next, Post virtually with the theme "Bali SMEs after Covid-19", Denpasar, Thursday 2 July 2020.

 

Various policies issued by the Governor of Bali during this pandemic to support the SME sector covered tax relaxation, ease of regulation, capital assistance, improvement of human resource quality, technological assistance, promotion of MSMEs.

 

"The various policies were issued considering that the SME sector played a very important role in the Balinese economy," he explained in a webminar which also presented Bangli Regent I Made Gianyar, Regent / Mayor Representative, Head of BI Bali Representative Trisno Nugroho as a speaker and guided by Hermawan Kartajaya.

 

He also warned that this happened during the Bali Bombings 1 and 2 as well as various disasters that impacted Bali tourism. "The MSME sector is the savior," he said.

 

The Deputy Governor, who is also the reverend of Puri Ubud, also explained that the policy was strengthened by the issuance of SE No: 065/447 / DISKOP / 2020 concerning Suspension of Loan Collecting for Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, an extra economic stimulus of Rp. 220 billion.

 

"Even before Covid-19, the Provincial Government has issued policies that pay close attention to MSMEs such as Pergub No. 79 of 2018 regarding the day of the use of Balinese Traditional Clothing and Pergub No. 99 of 2018 concerning Marketing and Utilization of Local Products of Agriculture, Fisheries and Bali Local Industries," he added .

 

Through these regulations, Cok Ace admitted that small, micro and medium businesses in Bali are increasingly stretched. While in the field of increasing human resources, the Deputy Governor explained that the Provincial Government has prepared various strategic steps, such as providing training that supports the ability and competitiveness of the community, technical assistance for young entrepreneurs, encouraging the improvement of the ability of the Balinese workforce through the Balai Training program.

 

"While to support this, the government will also prepare facilities and infrastructure, so that MSMEs in Bali can be more stretched after Covid-19," he explained.

 

In front of the five hundred webminar participants who were dominated by the younger generation and SMEs, Vice Governor Cok Ace also conveyed the importance of making efforts to change in accordance with the development of this new normal era.

 

"Now we must move to the digital age, both marketing and payment systems to reach a wider market," he explained.

 

Utilization of non-cash or cashless payment systems must be increased to avoid the intermediary of germs or viruses from money. While on this occasion he also mentioned tourism.

 

According to him, the provincial government of Bali plans to open the tourism sector for the domestic sector next July 9, while looking at developments. For this reason, he reminded tourism practitioners to prepare for the new normal era.

 

"All Covid-19 health and prevention protocols must be fully prepared. I also advised to change the stigma of quality tourists, only foreign tourists. Remember when Bali Bomb 1 hit Bali, wisdom is our savior, "he explained.

 

In the webminar which lasted for approximately three hours, the speaker also admitted that the MSME sector must be able to move towards new normal. In addition to driving the economy, this sector must be able to compete in the global arena.
