Cok Ace: Facing New Normal, Development of Tourism Villages Requires a Touch of Technology, Innovation, Creativity, and Good Management

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com. Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) encourages innovation and creativity in the development of village potential in the face of a new normal era amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This was conveyed when he appeared as a speaker at a national seminar held online, Thursday, July 2, 2020.

 

Cok Ace said that Indonesia has a diversity of arts, culture, customs and traditions that are characteristic of each region. Customs and traditions that grow and develop in every village that spreads from Sabang to Merauke.

 

According to him, with the capital of art, culture, customs and traditions, each village can be developed into a tourist village. He argues, the development of a tourist village will be able to improve the welfare of the local community. "It's just that, facing a new normal, the development of a tourist village requires a touch of innovation, creativity, good management and a touch of technology," he said.



 

Therefore, he appreciated the idea of ​​Baliwood Land, an international film tourism village concept located in Abiansemal Dauh Yeh Cani, Badung Regency.

 

He hopes that Baliwood Land will continue to explore and develop the potential of villages in Bali. But he reminded that in an effort to explore and develop the potential of a tourist village, Baliwood Land always involves the community as subjects, not positioning them as objects.

 

In another part, the Professor of ISI Denpasar also reminded that the development of tourism villages still heeded issues related to the COVID-19 health protocol namely hygiene, health and safety.

"Maybe what was developed were small groups," he concluded.


 

The seminar took the theme "Global Village Responding to Global Competition and New Transformation: Reviewing Policies on Renewal and Sharing Experiences Welcoming the New Normal Era". This activity featured a number of speakers who explored the potential that needed to be explored and developed by villages facing the new normal era.

 

The speaker who appeared at this seminar was the Head of the Center for Economic Research - LIPI Dr. Agus Eko Nugroho who explained the building of theoretical frameworks and concepts about social capital and village development. Next there is the Director of the Directorate of Film, Music and New Media, Ministry of Education and Culture Ahmad Mahendra who brought material about cultural wealth is the basic capital of development.

 

The other speaker is Dr. Bonivasius Prasetya from the PDDT Village Ministry, Dr. Syaifulah from the Parekraf Ministry and Dr. Agung Suryawan Wiranatha as Chair of the Center for Tourism Excellence at Udayana University.

 

The seminar also featured Dr. Arvin Miracelova who shared experiences on how the natural wealth and local culture of a village can be managed towards world wealth through digital innovation (Baliwood Land Development).
