Vice Governor of Bali Cok Ace Appreciated the Role of Bali Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission ( KPID) in Strengthening Broadcasting Institutions

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) appreciated the role of the Bali Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) in strengthening broadcasting institutions. This was conveyed when he received an audience for the chairman of KPID Bali I Made Sunarsa and his staff in the Living Room of the Deputy Governor's Office, Wednesday, October 21, 2020.


 

Cok Ace said that KPID has a strategic role in the midst of the rapid development of online media. The professor of ISI Denpasar hopes that broadcasting institutions under the supervision of KPID will always be present to provide enlightenment and information against hoaxes.

 

"In the midst of a pandemic and soon we will also face regional head elections, 

 we really need broadcasting institutions to provide useful information and become a reference for the public to find out what really happened," he said.

 

Responding to Vice Governor of Bali, Cok Ace's hopes,  Chairman of KPID Bali Made Sunarsa said that the institution he leads does not only focus on supervision, but is also responsible for efforts to strengthen broadcasting institutions.

 

Sunarsa said broadcasting institutions such as radio and television, which are classified as conventional media groups, are currently facing increasingly tough challenges. One of the challenges faced is the pressure of broadcasting institutions by the emergence of online media. As an institution related to broadcasting, KPID does not want to be discouraged and keep trying to strengthen it.

 

"We cannot be down, because currently conventional broadcasting institutions remain a reliable source of information," he said.

 

As part of efforts to strengthen broadcasting institutions, KPID Bali will hold an event entitled 'Gema Cipta 2020', from November 4, 2020 to December 3, 2020. This event will be characterized by a number of activities, namely socialization towards the era of digital television and creative competitions for public service advertisements loved Indonesian broadcasting.

 

The Gema Cipta 2020 series, KPID will also distribute 1000 radios to the public. "What we are distributing is purely radio, so it cannot be used for others. Through this activity we want to show that there are people who still listen to radio," he added.

 

Another event, on 19 November 2020 which coincides with Thursday, KPID requires all broadcasting institutions in Bali to use Balinese in their broadcasts after 12.00 WIB with a minimum duration of 15 minutes. In addition, broadcasts must also display Balinese Traditional Clothing.


 

According to Sunarsa, this is intended to further promote the implementation of Bali Governor Regulation No.80 of 2018 concerning the Protection and Use of Balinese Language, Script and Literature as well as the Implementation of the Balinese Language Month and Governor Regulation Number 79 of 2018 concerning the Day of Use of Balinese Traditional Clothing. The next two activities were organizing an academy radio and awarding the KPID Award to broadcasters.

 

To make the Gema Cipta 2020 series of activities a success, KPID Bali really hopes for the support of the Bali Provincial Government.

 

Vice Governor Cok Ace who was accompanied by the Head of Information and Public Communication Division of the Province of Bali, Ida Bagus Ketut Agung Ludra, said that in principle his party supports the successful implementation of Gema Cipta 2020.
