DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is one of the oldest organizations in Indonesia that has a strong humanitarian task in the world that is committed to engaging in humanitarian and social activities. PMI's role is very important in the human and social field, PMI is part of the front line in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, without feeling that the people in Indonesia, including Bali Province, have entered a new era of life. Prevention, response and distribution of volunteer assistance helps to be carried out consistently to break the chain against the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was conveyed by Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati when reading the Governor of Bali's remarks on a series of Inauguration of the Bali Province PMI Management and Honorary Board, at the Wiswa Sabha Utama Building, Wednesday (28 October 2020).
He added, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which is currently endemic, PMI with its main task continues to carry out its function, namely to donate blood for residents who volunteer to help others and conduct convalescent plasma therapy which is very useful for Balinese people who are in need.
PMI Bali Province as part of the Indonesian Red Cross organization in 2020, has carried out the mandate of the AD and ART in the form of the implementation of the XI PMI Bali Provincial Conference (MUSPROV) which is active 5 (five) years with one of the agendas for the election of the Chairperson of the Service 2020-2025.
At the inauguration of PMI's management and honorary board, Jusuf Kalla as Chairman of the PMI Inaugurated the Management and Honorary Board of PMI Bali Red Cross Indonesia (PMI) as a National Association, its existence was strengthened by Law Number 1 of 2018 concerning red Cross and Government Regulation (PP) Number 7 2019 concerning Implementation Regulations of Law Number 1 of 2018 concerning red Cross.
Again I Gusti Bagus Alit Putra was elected by acclamation as Chairman of the Bali Province PMI Management for the 2020-2025 service period, with the issuance of PMI Central Executive Decree Number: 051 / KEP / PP.PMI / X / 2020 dated 8 October 2020 concerning Bali Province PMI Management 2020-2025 and Number: 069 / KEP / PP.PMI / IX / 2020 dated 29 September 2020 concerning the PMI Bali Province Honorary Council for the 2020-2025 period, it is hoped that it will be able to become motivation and enthusiasm for the new management in increasing the progress and existence of PMI .
Chairperson of PMI, Muhammad Jusuf Kalla directly inaugurated 17 (seventeen) Management and 7 (seven) PMI PMI Bali Province Honorary Council for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of Community Figures, DPRD Members, Entrepreneurs, Bureaucrats and Government Officials, His party also requested that PMI members be able to dedicate their service to the wider community without knowing any selfish and differentiating status because PMI's main task is to work when humans and nature experience difficulties.
"With one of its main programs, namely blood donation, PMI is a solution to community difficulties, where they have a role in helping difficulties, whether caused by natural disasters or humans themselves, because we must cooperate solidly between the central and regional governments, including matters- What happens domestically and abroad is a collective task, " Jusuf Kalla said.
At the inauguration of the Management and Honorary Council of the Bali Province PMI, the implementation of the Health Protocol as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 through the implementation of 3M during the pandemic by using masks, washing hands and maintaining distance so as to break the chain of transmission. "Particularly in dealing with the Covid-19 condition, Jusuf Kalla emphasized that self-discipline, namely applying 3M (wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance) is the key to breaking the chain of the spread of the corona virus, so that we can protect each other," Jusuf Kalla added.
More specifically, Jusuf Kalla said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the tasks that had been carried out by PMI members in collaboration with the Government and related parties were spraying disinfectants in all spaces and regions, especially in vulnerable places as clusters, especially stations, terminals and places. other general.
