Governor of Bali Wayan Koster Launches Trial of Electric Shuttle Bus Transportation

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com -  Governor of Bali Wayan Koster launched a trial of transportation services in the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) and a trial of electric shuttle bus transportation for the Denpasar City area, Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Office house of  Bali Governor's, Jayasabha, Denpasar.

 

Governor Koster expressed his appreciation for the launch of the use of environmentally friendly fuels in motorized vehicles, which for the first time was tested on shuttle bus transportation.

 

According to him, the use of environmentally friendly fuels from electric energy in motorized vehicles is one of the real implementations of the Bali Governor Regulation Number 45 of 2019 concerning Bali Clean Energy. This is very much in line with the vision of "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali". Where the aim is to maintain the sanctity and harmony of Balinese nature and its contents, to create a prosperous and happy Balinese manor and life.

 

"The use of electric energy in bus vehicles that are tested starting today is very good. In the future, not only cars, we will also apply them to motorbikes, household appliances and expand not only in the field of transportation. But also for restaurants, hotels, we hope to start using renewable clean energy, "he said.

 

Governor Koster who is also the Chairperson of the DPD PDI Perjuangan Bali province  that in the future, to create a clean energy independent Bali, the power plants that will be developed on the Island of the Gods will all come from renewable energy. Such as wind, solar power, waves and other environmentally friendly energy sources, no longer sourced from oil or coal.

 

Thus it is hoped that Bali as a world tourism destination will truly maintain its environmental health, starting with the use of energy sourced from environmentally friendly energy.

 

"If we can apply this environmentally friendly fuel thoroughly, Bali's air will be clean. People can breathe fresh and healthy air, so that the quality of public health will also improve," he said.

 

In the future, synergy between stakeholders will continue to be improved and support from the community to make this trial a success is needed.

 

"So that together we can realize Clean Energy Bali in accordance with the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali," he said.

 

During the trial period the KSPN bus will serve 5 tourism routes. Among these are Route 1: I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport-Central Park Kuta-Ubung-Mengwi-Bedugul-Singaraja. Route 2: I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport-Sanur-Ubud-Kintamani-Singaraja. Route 3: Singaraja-Menjangan-West Bali National Park. Route 4: I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport-Goa  Lawah-Padangbai-Manggis-Amuk-Amed. While Route 5: I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport-Sanur-Klungkung-Besakih.


 

Unlike buses or other public transportation, this bus only stops at certain points and does not pick up and drop off passengers other than where it has been provided.

 

In the event which was also attended by the Leadership of the Bali Provincial DPRD, Regents / Mayors in Bali, the ranks of the Ministry of Transportation and related OPDs within the Bali Provincial Government, it was also filled with the signing of the MoU marking the trial operation of electric buses which are planned to operate temporarily in the City area.
