DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster closed the Bali Jani II Festival of "Candika Jiwa Puitika Atma Kerthi" at the Ksirarnawa Art Center Building, Saturday night, November 7, 2020.


 

The Bali Jani Art Festival, which was initiated by Putri Suastini Koster last year, is a forum for modern artists to express their creative appreciation and innovation in their work to advance the arts, while preserving Balinese culture.

 

To synergize and collaborate between traditional art and modern art, each of which is included in the Bali Arts Festival (PKB) and the Bali Jani Art Festival (FSBJ), the Governor of Bali strengthens its existence under the legal umbrella contained in the Bali Provincial Regulation No. 4 of 2020 concerning the Strengthening and Advancement of Balinese Culture.



 

This is a concrete step for Governor Wayan Koster in protecting the work of the Balinese people because culture is Bali's superiority, considering that Bali, with a population of nearly 5 million, does not have natural resources such as coal, petroleum, gold, mining and others.

 

The Bali Jani Art Festival is a space and forum prepared for Balinese art lovers as a joint effort in strengthening and advancing the existing culture in Bali Province. Both traditional art and modern art both have the prestige of quality in the opportunity to participate in world civilization.

 

"Never get bored in developing art and culture in Bali Province so that it can build an existence and competitiveness that will become the source of life in the future. With the birth and emergence of innovative and creative works, it is believed that individuals who have rich ideas will also emerge. with new ideas, "Governor Koster said. 

 

Through the Bali Jani Art Festival, the historical footprint of Bali as the center of world civilization, namely Padma Bhuawana, will again reinforce Balinese cultural arts through innovation and creativity of the young generation, artists, curators, so that through dialogue and discussion forums.

 

"Use this stage maximally to collaborate on the arts collectively and in groups so that the quality and quality of the performances are also able to compete at a higher level," he said.

 

Governor Koster who is also the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan DPD Bali Province added that one of the characteristics of an advanced civilization is the number of qualified book writers born in certain areas. And his party asked that the implementation of the third Bali Jani Art Festival in 2021 be filled with international book fairs.

 

While the Head of the Bali Provincial Culture Office Prof. I Wayan Adnyana conveyed that the Bali Jani II Festival was held in the context of advancing modern, contemporary art and innovative works with the theme "Candika Jiwa Puitika Atma Kerthi" which means the latest universe of creativity in immersing the spirit, taksu or bright ideas in conceptual platform exploration, experimentation, cross-border, contextual and collaboration.

 

The eight days of the Bali Jani II Art Festival were an important momentum for the birth of massive virtual arts with the support of 295 participants from eight types of competitions, involved 1000 artists in 45 performance communities and included 45 artists and 1 mural community in the Megarupa exhibition. At the same time, there are also 17 book publishers on the library veranda with 341 percentages of both fiction and non-fiction titles, and not to forget that 10 figures from across regions who are dedicated as recipients of Bali Jani Nugraha 2020 are appreciated and recognized for their achievements and dedication.

 

At the closing of the Bali Jani II Art Festival in 2020, Putri Koster collaborated with Balawan to present a poem entitled "AGUSTUS" as well as an Adilango entitled "Alun Bali Bangkit" performed by Sanggar Rare Sejati in collaboration with a number of Balinese artists. (Gix)
