Bali Provincial Government Receives Informative Classification of Public Information Openness in 2020

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com -The Provincial Government of Bali won the 2020 Public Information Openness award for the Informative classification. The reading and awarding of Public Information Openness to the qualifications of the Informative Public Agency was attended by Bali Provincial Secretary Dewa Made Indra virtually from the Video Conference Room, Office of Communication, Informatics and Statistics of Bali Province, Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
Dewa Indra expressed his appreciation for the hard work that has been done by the Bali Provincial Office of Communication, Informatics and Statistics along with all OPDs in the Bali Provincial Government for their efforts to achieve the informative classification of Public Information Openness (KIP) in 2020.
The achievement of KIP informative classification has been achieved by the Bali Provincial Government gradually. In 2018, the Bali Provincial Government received the title of being quite informative, then in 2019 it increased with the classification towards informative.
"In 2020 we can reach the top of the classification, which is informative. This is inseparable from hard work and good coordination between DPOs. In the future we must continue to work hard to maintain the informative predicate and refine it to get better scores," he added.
Dewa Indra who was accompanied by the Head of the Bali Province Communication, Informatics and Statistics Office Gede Pramana also said that there are two criteria in KIP, namely innovation and collaboration. The innovations referred to include information service innovation, information service innovation in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and innovation in public innovation strategies.
The second criterion is collaboration, namely the collaboration of the Bali Provincial Government with other public agencies in the provision, service and dissemination of public information.
"We can fulfill these two big criteria and we have the right to hold the title of informative. Public information services must not stop during a pandemic, but must be more innovative. In the future, we will improve our performance, be more innovative in providing information disclosure services to the public, "he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Ma'ruf Amin, in his remarks conveyed several important things related to public information disclosure, where public information disclosure is an effort to optimize the protection of the public's right to public information as part of human rights.
Public information disclosure is also a strategic matter in realizing good governance that is clean and free of corruption, transparent, effective and efficient public services. Public information disclosure is also part of the government's commitment to encourage community participation in the public policy making process.
With the openness of public information, it is hoped that the public will be more actively involved in the process of making public policies starting from planning, implementation to evaluation of these policies. For this reason, the Vice President invites all parties to interpret the importance of involving community participation in formulating public policies.
"The government is committed to carrying out public openness and transparency in running the government," he said.
The Public Information Openness Award is given to Public Bodies that meet informative qualifications. This award is given annually by the central KI to Public Bodies that implement and implement Law No. 14 of 2008 on KIP based on monitoring and evaluation conducted by the Central Information Commission.
From the monev for the openness of the Public Agency (BP), that out of 348 BP monitored throughout 2020, the majority of 72.99 percent (254 BP) still have very low compliance in implementing public information disclosure, namely 17.53 percent (61 BP) only in the Quite informative, 13.51 percent (47 BP) less informative and 41.95 percent (146 BP) not informative.
Based on the range of BP monitoring and evaluation assessments in 2020 carried out by the Central KI involving eight judges from academia, researchers, information disclosure activists and mass media, for the BP Informative category it was only 17.43 percent (60 BP) and Towards Informative 9.77 percent (34 BP) which can be assessed as having implemented Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Openness. The provincial government of Bali is included in the informative classification of provincial government public bodies with a score of 92.20. (Gix)
