The Bali Provincial Government Gives Final Tribute to 53 Indonesian Navy Soldiers, KRI Nanggala 402

BULELENG, - The Bali Provincial Government held a Mapekelem and Flower Sowing Ceremony, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Labuan Lalang Pier, Sumberklampok, Buleleng, to pay their final respects to 53 Indonesian Navy (AL) KRI Nanggala 402 Soldiers who drowned in northern sea of Bali.


This nationalistic ceremony was held by Ida Pandita Dukuh Tri Budha Nata Giri Nandha, attended by Religious Figures from the Bali Province FKUB, Vice Governor of Bali  Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, Udayana Commander IX Udayana Maj. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Bali Police Chief Inspector General Pol Putu Jayan Danu Putra, Danlanal Denpasar Lantamal V Colonel Laut (P) I Komang Teguh Ardana, Regional Secretary of Bali Province, Dewa Made Indra, Regent and Vice Regent of Buleleng Putu Agus Suradnyana and dr. Nyoman Sutjidra, Regent of Jembrana, Nengah Tamba, Vice Regent of Bangli, I Wayan Diar, and Chairman of the Buleleng DPRD, Gede Supriatna, as well as representatives of the late family. Governor of Bali Wayan Koster conveyed that the Mapakelem and Flower Tabur Ceremony is a form of concern, love and love for TNI soldiers as fellow human beings, as countrymen and homeland families as stated in the Upanisad Book which teaches the thoughts of Vasudewa Kutumbakam (we are one earth family), Tat Twam Asi (we are brothers) which is the actualization of universal human values ​​and religious values ​​to create peace and increase compassion for fellow living beings.

On the other hand, the number one person in the Bali Provincial Government told that in relation to this event, Megawati Soekarnoputri, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia had given very detailed directions to hold this prayer and flower sowing event as affection, love and respect for the nation's patriot warriors 53 people who died in the sinking of the submarine KRI Nanggala 402.


"Unfortunately, with respect, and so much love for the Indonesian Navy soldiers, she (Megawati Soekarnoputri, red) who made this large wreath design with the concept of Red and White, material from roses complete with the motto: For Indonesia Raya, Wira Ananta Rudhiro, Be strong to the end. Also filled with the names of 53 soldiers as a tribute to the 53 soldiers who died and to the right of the wreath was a half-mast Red and White Flag flying. Furthermore, Koster explained that in the religious life of the Balinese people, as an implementation of Sad Kertih's teachings, the Mapekelem Ceremony has the meaning of pleading before God Hyang Widhi Wasa in the manifestation of Dewa Baruna as the guardian of the ocean, so that hopefully life in our sea that functions for this life will run well.

On the other hand, with the existence of various disasters, especially the sinking of the KRI Nanggala 402 Submarine, including Gering Agung Covid-19 which is still hitting the world until now, it has further strengthened the belief that the universe is a legal entity (Satyam, Rtam, and Dharma) in A harmonious order must be preserved in its sanctity and balance, because humans cannot be separated from these natural laws.


In closing, Wayan Koster stated that on behalf of the Bali Provincial Government and all Balinese people, I would like to express my deep sorrow for the death of 53 Indonesian Navy soldiers at KRI Nanggala 402 in carrying out their duties in the waters north of Bali.
