DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Bali Provincial Government has firmly denied the Work From Bali (WFB) policy as a trigger for the spike in Covid-19 cases in Bali.

Domestic Travelers have gone through strict travel conditions including negative swab test results to be able to enter Bali in accordance with applicable health protocols.

This was stated by the Head of the Bali Province Communication, Information and Statistics Agency Gede Pramana in his press release on Tuesday ( June 22,2021) night in Denpasar in response to news in one of the online media that carried the title 'Work From Bali Becomes One of the Triggers for Corona Spike, Cases Increase fold'.

"The spike in Covid-19 cases has not only occurred in Bali but also in various other areas in Indonesia, so it is inappropriate to mention the WFB policy as the trigger," He said .

This spike in cases is partly due to increasing community activities and the emergence of new mutations of the corona virus.

He continued that the WFB policy initiated by the central government was appropriate because the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism-based Bali economy was felt by the Balinese people.

"The WFB policy will really help the Balinese economy recover, of course, while still prioritizing health protocols," He added .

He hopes that the assessment of a policy is not based on assumptions and logic alone, but is also supported by data and socio-economic conditions of the community.(gix)
