The Vice Governor of Bali Cok Ace Releases Gran Fondo New York Road Bike Participants

GIANYAR, Balitopnews.com- The Vice Governor of Bali Prof. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) released the participants who took part in the Gran Fondo New York (GFNY) Championship Asia road bike event at kilometer 19.9 main road By Pass Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra Gianyar, Sunday (Redite Kliwon Medangungan), August 7, 2022.

 

The event, which involved 1,900 participants from 30 countries, was divided into two distances, namely long (137 km) and medium (102 km), passing through the coast and mountain areas of East Bali. This event does not only involve professional cyclists, but also the general public. Bali Police Chief Inspector General. Pol. Drs. Putu Jayan Danu Putra, S.H., M.Si, Deputy Chief of the Bali Police Brigadier General. Pol. Drs. I Ketut Suardana, M.Si along with a number of Police Headquarters officials also enlivened this event.

 

In his brief remarks, The Vice Governor Cok Ace expressed his gratitude because this prestigious event could be held again after the previous year was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. For that, he expressed his gratitude to the committee who were so enthusiastic in preparing this event so that it was able to attract many participants. "This is great and extraordinary, congratulations to the committee members and also the participants who are so enthusiastic about participating in this activity," he said while appreciating the selection of routes that allow participants to explore the natural beauty of the eastern part of Bali such as Karangasem.

 

On the other hand, he expressed his optimism that this event would be able to accelerate the recovery of the Bali tourism sector. “Along the route, I'm sure the participants will take lots of photos and upload them on their respective social media. This is very good for Bali tourism, very good for economic recovery efforts and also very effective for tourism promotion. Because the outstanding potential that Bali has is the beauty of nature and culture,” he said. He wished all participants success in taking the route determined by the committee and safely arriving at the finish line. Ending his remarks, he hoped that in the future more national and international scale events would be held on the Island of the Gods.

 

To note, GFNY is an international-scale cycling marathon series held in 19 countries with a total of 30,000 participants per year which is divided into regional championships in several different countries and world championships in New York, United States. GFNY Indonesia is part of the GFNY World Series which has been held since 2016.

Participants from all over Indonesia and abroad such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, England, France, Italy, the US and several other countries are expected to be able to revive the economy of Indonesia and Bali in particular. The best participants in the 2022 GNFY Bali event will depart for New York USA to take part in the World Championship in 2023. To add to the liveliness of this event, a Bike Expo was also held from August 5-7 in Gianyar.

The release of GNFY Bali 2022 participants by The Vice Governor of Bali  Cok Ace was witnessed by the Secretary General of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Cycling Association (Secretary General PB ISSI) Parama Nugroho and the Director of Bali Poltekpar, Drs.
