The Chairperson of The Dekranasda Bali Province Appreciates the Nusantara Festival at Garuda Wisnu Kencana

BADUNG, Balitopnews.com -  The Chairperson of The Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of Bali Province, Mrs Putri Koster appreciated the implementation of the Nusantara Festival which at the opening featured the Baleganjur Competition at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK), Badung, on Sunday, Redite Paing Matal ( August 14, 2022).

According to her, the implementation of the Nusantara Festival is also a form of gratitude, because for the last two years Bali has really fallen and is quiet due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world. "Currently, the Covid-19 in Bali has slowed down, Bali has begun to be visited by many tourists. This is also a good opportunity for artists to work again and show it to the world,” She explained, who on the occasion was also accompanied by the Head of the Bali Province Industry and Trade Office, I Wayan Jarta.

Especially when the opening ceremony was colored by the appearance of GWK employees who performed Baleganjur. She also appreciated the employees who had presented their best performances. "It's definitely not easy to divide the time between work and training, but today I really appreciate the hard work of all of you,"She added.

She also advised that every festival held by GWK, especially the dance festival, should still consider the types of dances that exist in Bali. As is known, Balinese dances are divided into three types, namely Wali, Bebali and Balih-Balihan dances. Wali dance is a type of sacred dance intended for religious ceremonies, Bebali dance is a semi-sacred dance that can be used for religious ceremonies and performances, and finally Balih-Balihan dance which is a dance for performances. "So don't get mixed up, don't perform the Wali dance for the Festival, because it is Balinese taksu," She said, saying if Bali loses taksu, it will lose its Balinese identity which is the source of tourism so far.

On that occasion, she said that Bali is known for its culture, it is thanks to culture that tourism advances. So she also emphasized that tourism is for culture, not the other way around. So that tourism must contribute greatly to the development and preservation of culture.

Mrs. Putri Koster also welcomes artists from outside Bali. She hopes that this Festival in Bali can introduce Bali and other provinces to the world. Moreover, in the future, she said that the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, was preparing the Bali Cultural Center in Klungkung, so that this place would become the center of culture in Bali. “From now on, I invite artists and IKM/UMKM to get ready, because the Bali Provincial Government under the leadership of The Governor Wayan Koster is preparing a place. We can show off there," she said.

While previously the Director of GWK Erwyanto Tedjakusuma previously explained that the Nusantara Festival was aimed at enlivening the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day and the Birthday of the Province of Bali. The event will take place from 14-21 August 2022. He also continued that this event will involve almost 100 MSMEs packaged in the NUSANTARA CULINARY MARKET Program. And as the highlight, we will hold PENTAS NUSANTARA on August 17th at 19.00 WITA by presenting National Artists and Fireworks Party.

According to him, the series of events on August 14, 2022 are the Colossal Baleganjur Competition, the Commemoration Ceremony on August 17 with a flag ceremony inviting 200 school students and 100 GWK employees. Meanwhile, the regular event every day is the Nusantara Culinary Market by inviting 100 Indonesian culinary delights. ( Rls/Btnc)
