Vice Governor Cok Ace: Constitutional Village Festival Can Capture Public Awareness in Constitution

Constitutional rights are basic rights which are then adopted in the constitution which includes human rights and citizens' rights guaranteed in the 1945 Constitution and applies to every Indonesian citizen. The 1945 Constitution is the Indonesian constitution as the basic norm in the Indonesian legal system that regulates and guides citizens to achieve their goals. As a citizen, a person will surely get constitutional and legal rights after carrying out his obligations as a citizen.
This was conveyed by Deputy Governor of Bali Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) in his remarks at the closing of the Constitutional Village Festival in Bangbang Village, Tembuku, Bangli, Friday (1 November 2019).
"I welcome this activity and at the same time express my deepest gratitude to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia for choosing Bali to host the Constitutional Village Festival. Hopefully this event can foster public awareness in constituting and increase understanding of citizens' constitutional rights," he said .
Cok Ace said, according to the Village Law, village is a legal community unit that has territorial boundaries that are authorized to regulate and manage affairs and governance, the interests of local communities based on community initiatives, original rights and / or traditional rights that are recognized and respected in the NKRI government system. In such a position, villages with all their unique characteristics have strategic positions and roles in determining the full face of the constitutionalism of the Republic of Indonesia and the village must be recognized as having the strength and spirit to sustain the sustainability of the State and Nation.
"I hope that the implementation of the Constitutional Village Festival will increase the collective awareness of villagers about the importance of having the ability and intelligence in constituting. I also hope that in actualizing daily life, awareness and understanding of community law will begin to develop, so that efforts to build a culture of community law can be realized, " the figure of Puri Ubud said.
Cok Ace added, in accordance with the Vision, Mission and Bali Development Program namely "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali" through Universe Planned Development Patterns, it is hoped that through this activity the relationship and coordination between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia and the Provincial Government of Bali can be developed towards a more productive direction, in to build and strengthen the legal culture of the people to realize the democratic and fair life of Krama Bali towards the prosperity and happiness of Sekala-Niskala.
Hopefully this festival can open insight and increase knowledge regarding Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and special knowledge about constitutional institutions and improve the ability to think critically and creatively to create a quality golden generation in education.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court M. Guntur Hamzah said that in Indonesia there were 3 (Three) Constitutional Villages namely Galesong Village, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, Papua and Bambang Village, Tembuku, Bangli - Bali. Guntur Hamzah said, through the feat of this Konatitus Village, it became a very good momentum for all of us to maintain this Bambang Village as a Constitutional Village.
Guntur Hamzah added, the purpose of establishing the Constitutional Village as an effort to strengthen, maintain, earth and cultivate the values of Pancasila. In this case, the Bangbang villagers are considered to have the spirit and commitment to constitutional awareness.(Balitopnews.com/MD/Rls)
