Balitopnews.com, DENPASAR - The implementation of the Bali Arts Festival (PKB) XLII in 2020 was finally canceled  in anticipation of the spread of Covid 19. This was revealed in the Bali Governor's Notification Letter number: 430/3287 / Sekret / DISBUD on 31 March 2020.

In the Notification of Implementing the Collective Labor Agreement of XLII in 2020, which was addressed to the Regents / Mayors of Bali, there were a number of things to consider, namely: the directives and policies of the President of the Republic of Indonesia so that the government and regional governments focus on preventing and handling Covid 19.

Covid 19 in all countries including Indonesia is increasing. That Covid Pendemi 19 cannot be ascertained when it ends, so that it is psychologically less conducive to the community. Whereas the PKB XLII 2020 which was planned for implementation on June 13 to July 11, 2020 was very close to the deadline for the National Emergency Response Period on the spread of Covid 19, namely May 29, 2020.

Head of the Bali Provincial Culture Office Dr. I Wayan Adnyana, S.Sn, M.Sn in his press statement on Tuesday (March 31, 2020) mentioned the notice of the XLII PKB elimination contained in the Bali Governor's letter Number 430/3287 / Sekret / DISBUD, dated March 31, 2020 addressed to the Regent / Guardian City of Bali. Referring to the letter, Kun Adnyana outlined several considerations related to the elimination of the 2020 PKB XLII.

The first consideration, the directives and policies of Indonesian President Joko Widodo so that the government and regional governments focus on preventing and handling Covid-19. This presidential directive is based on data on the spread of Covid-19 in all countries including Indonesia, which has been increasing recently. This condition encourages all countries including Indonesia to make serious efforts to tackle the spread of the Сovid-19 pandemic by pursuing various policies including social / physical distancing until an undetermined deadline.

The next consideration is that the Сovid-19 pandemic is uncertain when it will end, so that it is psychologically less conducive to society. While the PKB XLII 2020 planned for June 13 to July 11, 2020, is very close to the deadline for the National Emergency Response Period on the spread of Covid-19, which is May 29, 2020.

This situation will have an impact on the non-optimal preparation of all matters related to the implementation of PKB XLII. Taking this into account and verbal input from the Regent / Mayor, Governor Wayan Koster agreed to abolish the holding of the XLII Bali Arts Festival (PKB) in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Governor of  Bali Wayan Koster appealed to the Balinese people to tolerate this decision taken with a heavy heart. In 2021, he continued to convince the public, the implementation of the PKB would be more festive than before. (Balitopnews.com/gix)
