Mrs. Putri Koster Invites Ladies in WFH to plant vegetables and Prepare 125 Tons of Rice for  Communities Affected Covid 19

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Chairperson of the PKK Bali Province Mrs Putri Suastini Koster said that in the near future the PKK Province of Bali has prepared 125 tons of local rice to be distributed to the public, especially those who really need it.


 

In addition to filling out Work From Home (WFH), Mrs. Putri Koster invited the PKK ladies to use the yard, by planting vegetables and family medicinal plants.

 

This was emphasized during an interactive dialogue related to the Role of the PKK Through its Heart Program PKK in responding to the Covid-19 outbreak that took place at the Bali Local TV station, Friday (April 24, 2020).


 

Mrs. Putri Koster stressed that her office had coordinated with the PKK in Regency / City to coordinate the PKK in the village or the village heads to submit data to the provinces who needed rice donations. "So here I do not want favoritism to occur, I leave it to the village to collect data on citizens who do need it because the village is the one who knows the condition of its citizens best, so that the data we get are really real conditions on the ground," She said.


 

Furthermore, Mrs. Putri Koster explained the role of the PKK in the household is very important both in meeting the needs of the family and protecting family members in everyday life. To that end, the PKK itself has 10 main programs to support government development, one of which is the Heart of the PKK, which is Page, Beautiful, Organized, Beautiful and True and Useful.

 

From 2019, since being inaugurated as Chairperson of PKK, Mrs. Putri Koster maximized the PKK's Heart program in all regencies / cities in Bali to remote villages. According to her heart PKK has a very important role in fostering the independence of the community to meet basic needs, especially in the field of food. For that reason, since 2019, Mrs. Putri Koster went directly to the villages in educating the public about what plants could be developed through the heart of the PKK


 

Mrs. Putri Koster always appealed to the community to make use of her house yard, both those that have narrow and wide yard, to plant some kitchen needs such as vegetables, chili, turmeric, lemongrass and various kinds of kitchen spices. In addition, the yard can also be used to plant flowers, to be used in making canang. Meanwhile Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Office of the Province of Bali, Ida Bagus Wisnuardhana, explained that the availability of food in Bali until December 2020 is still very sufficient.

 

Unless there is a shortage of garlic and onions because there is no harvest season, but the Department of Agriculture and Food Security has several solutions to stabilize onions and garlic in the field.

 

"To maintain price stability during the Covid-19 pandemic and before Idhul Fitri, we have formed a food security task force team to control the supply and prices of basic necessities in the field and take action if there are individuals who stockpile commodity goods," he concluded.
