JEMBRANA, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster assessed that Bali is too engrossed in tourism development, until we leave the main elements of the Balinese economy which is famous for its agrarian culture (agriculture, red). Even though Bali Agriculture has proven itself as one of the leading sectors on the Island of the Gods that has survived when Bali Tourism lost its tourists due to the Bali Bombing and the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Bali and the rest of the world.

"By looking at this incident, we should pay attention to agriculture from upstream to downstream," Koster said, who has produced a policy that is in favor of farmers, namely Bali Governor Regulation Number 99 of 2018 concerning Marketing and Utilization of Bali Agricultural, Fishery and Local Industry Products.

The reason for the Governor of Bali from Sembiran Village, Buleleng, has called for the real world of agriculture to be developed in a real way from upstream to downstream, because he sees that recently the world of Balinese agriculture is very remote. In fact, if it is noted, this agrarian culture has given birth to the Subak community organization which specifically regulates irrigation systems (irrigation, ed) and is proven to harmonize the relationship between humans and God, fellow human beings, and humans with their natural environment to become a world tourism attraction.

More than that, the existence of farmers in the Covid-19 pandemic situation are Balinese food security fighters who never know time, but are left behind.

"We are very left behind in our agricultural world, not to mention that our farmers are sulking, because they are not given price certainty. Our farmers are tired of hoeing, providing fertilizer, caring for their agricultural products, and harvesting, but the crops are not selling well,"  Wayan Koster said when accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Thursday (Agust 20, 2020) in front of the Regent of Jembrana, I Putu Artha, Deputy Regent, I Made Kembang Hartawan, Member of DPR-RI Commission IV, Made Urip, Bali Regional Secretary, Dewa Made Indra, Chairman of UPH Amerta Urip, I Made Sugandi, and Kelian Subak Abian, Ketut Sutama when releasing the Jembrana-style Bali Fermented Cocoa Beans Export to Japan at Subak Abian Dwi Mekar, Poh Santen Village, Jembrana.

So that this incident does not happen again, the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan DPD Bali Province further firmly invites the Jembrana Regent in particular, and Regents / Mayors throughout Bali to pay attention to the fate of farmers by providing price certainty and providing the market.

"Now is the right moment to balance the Balinese agricultural sector, tourism with the Bali Branding Industry. The way we handle it is more serious and more focused, the grain production which was previously taken by middlemen, must be controlled now," he said while saying in Jembrana there were still middlemen who took grain. . So that this should not happen again and we have to think progressively, by not selling unhulled rice to other places or outside, because after turning it into rice, they sell it back to Bali. In fact, we in Bali have the potential to produce unhulled rice into rice, and if we do this seriously, the Balinese people will not lose their jobs and lose the economy.

In closing, Koster emphasized that we are obliged to give profit to farmers, not to harm farmers. To make it happen, we will help with the handling of farmers' assistance downstream in 2021. Before waiting for 2021, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster has issued Governor Circular Letter (SE) Number 15036 of 2020 concerning the Krama Bali Mutual Cooperation Market as a breakthrough effort to overcome marketing constraints. faced by farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, and micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.(Gix)
