DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Vice Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace), took off the "Willys Club" car touring which will take a Denpasar-Bedugul trip to spread healthy vibrations amid the Covid-19 pandemic and to commemorate the 32nd Willys Club Anniversary , the release was carried out at Bajra Sandhi South Field, Renon, Denpasar, on Saturday (August 22, 2020).
On the sidelines of the release ceremony, Cok Ace who is also a fan of Willys cars said that history has always left something for us as the younger generation to continue to inherit and continue it.
Whether it's theory, the foundation of the state, or physical remains that have historical value. One community in Bali known for its classic army cars is the Bali Willys Club (BWC).
This Willys Jeep is indeed a part of the history of Indonesian independence, a legacy from World War II to be precise. For this reason, Deputy Governor Cok Ace expressed his appreciation for the initiative of Willys Club members who will hold a Denpasar-Bedugul touring, in addition to commemorating the BWC Anniversary and the 72nd Anniversary of RI Independence, it is also expected to spread the health protocol greetings in the community. "I think there is nothing wrong with organizing a touring event in the new normal era, this of course should provide a positive vibration in the midst of society. For example, by implementing health protocols during travel and spreading health protocol greetings during the trip," he said.
For this reason, Cok Ace hopes that with this touring, members who are joined from various groups such as entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, mechanics, to members of the TNI / POLRI can further increase the sense of unity between members and also spread positive vibrations to the areas they are traveling through.
The touring event was attended by 80 participants with 50 willys jeeps. Before releasing the touring participants, Deputy Governor Cok Ace also handed over assistance in the form of basic necessities, hand sanitizers and masks to the touring participants. (Gix).
