Putri Koster Attends 'Ngatag' Ceremony at Edelweiss Park

KARANGASEM, Balitopnews.com - Chairperson of the Dekranasda Bali Province Putri Suastini Koster, stated that her party will collaborate with the Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University to create raw materials for incense and perfume from Bunga Kasna (Edelweiss Flowers) . This is done to arouse the enthusiasm of the peasants in increasing the cultivation of Kasna Flowers, with the hope of being able to turn the economy in rural areas stably.

 

Putri Koster said this while attending the 'Ngatag' ceremony which coincided with Tumpek Uduh's rahinan, at Edelweiss Park in Temukus Village, Besakih District, Karangasem Regency, Saturday, August 22, 2020.

 

Putri Koster said the Kasna flower, which is commonly known by the general public, especially tourists as the Edelweiss flower, can only grow in highlands, cold temperatures and sandy soil. This plant can be seen lying on an area of ​​1 hectare in Temukus Village, Besakih District, Karangasem Regency.



 

Kasna flowers are very much needed as a means of 'offering' which is used during the Galungan rahinan only, so after that the use of this flower will stop for a moment, in the sense that Kasna flowers are only used once every six (6) months. This has an indirect effect on the economy and the morale of the farmers.

 

Seeing this condition, Putri Suastini Koster, during her time to visit Edelweiss Park in Temukus Village, expressed her desire to make Kasna Flowers a raw material for making incense and perfume.

 

In addition, the wife of the Governor of Bali also invited local residents, especially Edelweiss farmers, to start creating Kasna Flowers into flower arrangements in the form of flower booklets, or a greeting in the form of a flower bouquet

"As local residents, we have to be smart in seeing opportunities, so that we don't just become spectators of the resources we have and should be able to develop them," She said.

 

"Our goal is that apart from making Kasna flowers as raw material for incense and perfume, also through related agencies that will assist farmers and managers of Edelweiss Park, can make Kasna flowers enter hotels and restaurants, which of course are already in the form of decorated and mixed flower arrangements. with local interest, "She added.

 

This flower can only grow on sandy soil, it is hoped that besides being a mascot, it is also the only area in Bali to be visited by tourists if they want to enjoy the beautiful colors of Edelweiss which consists of three types, namely the flowered kasna plant. flowering and has a very fragrant aroma.

 

Putri Koster also provided education to a number of students who were carrying out real work lectures from one of the universities in Bali, so that they as the nation's next generation would participate in building Bali, especially those who were directly involved in society, for example finding scientific development methods in creating ideas. new which later can be used by many people.


 

In addition, Putri Koster also said that Karangasem Edelweiss Park has reopened for tourists, especially domestic ones who are currently starting to come to Bali. However, by continuing to apply a new pattern of life, namely the application of health protocols.

 

"Begin to return to normal activities but do not forget the implementation of health protocols so that immunity remains strong, the body remains healthy and the Corona Virus is far from all of us," Putri Koster said. 

 

The head of Bali Edelweiss Park Management I Wayan Sudiana said that the first time this park was created was because before the eruption of Mount Agung occurred in 2018. New tourist destinations and spots for tourists that were established with this community group do have their own taksu to bring in visitors.
