DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Central Government has paid special attention to Bali in handling Covid-19. Where Bali is one of the 10 provinces that have priority in handling Covid-19. This was conveyed by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster at a work meeting and briefing of the Head of the National Covid-19 Task Force with the Bali Covid-19 Task Force which took place via video conference from Jayasabha Office, Denpasar, Friday (9 October 2020)

"Bali is considered to be a storefront in handling Covid-19 in Indonesia," Governor Koster said while expressing his appreciation and gratitude for the special attention of the Central Government in handling Covid-19 in Bali. Where at this work meeting, Bali Provincial Secretary Dewa Made Indra, Bali Regional Police Chief, Bali Police Chief, Inspector General (Pol) Petrus Reinhard Golose, Pangdam IX / Udayana Commander Maj. Gen. Kurnia Dewantara were also present.

With that attention, his party will make full efforts to continue to suppress the positive increase in Covid-19. Where in the last few days, he continued, showed quite encouraging progress with the healing rate increasing sharply. "Apart from technical efforts, we also continue to make other efforts in accordance with our local wisdom in Bali. And for that, we always ask for support from the Central Government and especially from the National Task Force. Hopefully Bali can be free from this pandemic as soon as possible, ”said the man from Sambiran, Buleleng.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Covid-19 Task Force as well as the Head of the BNPB,

Lieutenant General Doni Monardo, who was present in Bali, said that the Central Government through the Task Force made various efforts to fully support a number of provinces that were considered to have increased cases, including Bali. "Currently, there are still people who consider themselves unlikely to be exposed to Covid-19 based on BPS data. The number is 17 percent whose real figure is nearly 45 million people. This includes Bali, where around 20.78 percent of the population feels that it is impossible to be exposed. This is a very large number and for that, steps and efforts to break this chain must be increased again, "Doni said.

According to him, the socialization of the health protocol discipline (prokes) is an urgent matter that must be the priority of every regional head, either through mass media or social media. "The Task Force itself has collaborated with the Press Council and a number of media to support and fill in programs related to changes in people's behavior. Delivering information with local wisdom, using local languages is equally important because once again a lack of understanding will be dangerous, about what is new normal, what is social distancing, and so on, "he said.

"Covid is very dangerous because it is not transmitted by animals, but from human to human and the people who are most likely to transmit it are closest people, family, relatives, friends, so it must be understood that masks, washing hands and maintaining distance are priorities for now," Doni added.

Doni Monardo also reminded that until now there is no vaccine for Covid-19 and even if there is one, the distribution cannot be made for the whole community but needs more stages. "So for now, the best vaccine is obedience and discipline (health protocol-ed). More than one million people have died worldwide, more than 35 million people have been exposed. There have been so many of our health workers who have died carrying out their duties as heroes of humanity and we do not want this to continue, it is really not worth our awareness to comply with the program, "he emphasized.

Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force's Behavioral Change Division Sonny Harry B. Harmadi said, according to BPS data, there are 20.8 percent of people who believe they have not contracted Covid-19, or nearly 840 thousand people from the 4.2 million population of Bali. "This requires massive education. Then, everyone needs to know what zone they are in so they can prepare themselves well, "he said.

Sonny also explained that the implementation of the 3M protocol discipline, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance and washing hands, is the most effective choice at this time, especially as an obligation in prevention. "Without 3M, our risk of getting infected is at 95 percent. If implemented correctly, the risk of transmission is 15 percent. Even with the prokes there is still a risk, but of course the risk is much lower, "he explained.

According to Sonny, a change in behavior has become a weapon against the spread of Covid-19. "Masks are currently the main weapon. I took the case in Alabama, US. After his government made it mandatory to wear masks, his daily cases fell by a quarter. Then another example in Austria, when the government relaxed the use of masks, cases immediately jumped,"he explained.

Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, added that 1,179 active cases in Bali were low with a cure rate of 85.2 percent. "But of course the positive numbers must be pressed again with behaviors that must be changed, more obedient and disciplined," he said.

To support the action in the field, Prof. Wiku also said that the task force officers, TNI, Polri and Satpol PP would be equipped with a disciplinary monitoring application for health protocols that are useful for seeing the real conditions in the field. "This application is real time, so there will be a lot of reports and it can be handled right away if it shows risk indicators such as crowds and people without masks," he said.

On that occasion, the National Covid-19 Task Force handed over assistance to the Bali Provincial Government which Governor Koster received directly in the form of two ventilator units, 5 thousand face shields, 15 thousand personal protective equipment (PPE), 30 thousand surgical masks, 10 thousand N-95 masks and 500 thousand cloth masks.
