DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Mobile Laboratory Bio Safety Level 2 (MBSL-2) is a mobile laboratory that can carry out specimen testing from swab tests with a capacity of around 500 specimens in 24 hours.

 

This was stated by the Head of the Indonesian Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) Hammam Riza, in Denpasar, Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

 

According to Hammam Riza, BSL-2 has existed in May since the outbreak of Covid-19 in March, but is still in the form of a container in the Innovation Research Task Force for Handling Covid-19. Then move again to the container trailer version.

 

"It has been placed in the Army Hospital in East Jakarta, RSAD Putri Hijau in Medan, and in Plaju (Sumsel-red) which is used by BUMN," he said.

 

MBSL-2 is the third version. This bus was the result of the design and construction of the BPPT together with the Covid-19 Management Innovation Research Task Force. So that this bus will be in every province and can be used in our context to overcome the Covid and economic pandemic.

 

"Take for example in Bali, this bus can later be directed to the airport. Foreign tourists enter from the airport. Swab test first when he arrives so that we are sure, even though he has tested in his country. This bus can also be sent to Gilimanuk," he added.

 

He said it took 2 weeks to prepare for this bus to be permanently in Bali according to the request of the Governor of Bali, coordinated with the national Covid-19 Response Task Force.

 

For your information, the MBSL-2 bus variant has the same concept, which is mobile, safe and accurate. This bus variant of the BSL-2 mobile lab has several advantages over the previous generation of mobile labs, including being built with a bus platform, to strengthen the concept of mobility, so that it can be easily operated in areas where it is needed.
