KLUNGKUNG, Balitopnews.com - Vice Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) appreciated Warmadewa University's research activities led by archaeologist Dr. Anak Agung Gede Raka, M.Si who will be used as the basis for the preparation of books, purana and inscriptions about the existence of the Dasar Bhuana Gelgel  Temple, Klungkung Regency.


This was conveyed when he attended the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) of the results of Unwar's research which was held at The Hall of Dasar Bhuana Gelgel Temple to coincide with Rahina Tumpak Landep, Saturday (February 13, 2021).


 Cok Ace considered that what the Warmadewa University researchers had done was very useful. Because this research will produce important documents in the form of books, purana and inscriptions that will serve as guidelines and provide information for the next generation.


 

Furthermore, he conveyed that the existence of Dasar Bhuana Temple has a very important and strategic meaning for Hindus on the Island of the Gods. He said, the existence of a pelinggih in the area of ​​ Dasar Bhuana Temple reflects the concept of the unity of Krama Bali.


"There is a pelinggih for semeton Brahmana, Satria, Pande and Pasek. Very complete, this is an extraordinary concept passed down from our ancestors," he said.

 

Apart from the existence of a pelinggih which reflects the unity of the people, geographically this temple is also located in the center of Bali Island.

 

"Ida Lelangit chose Gelgel as the location of the temple, of course based on special considerations. Why not in Tabanan, Jembrana, Bangli or other areas? Because if we analyze and draw a straight line, Gelgel is positioned in the middle of Bali Island," he added while mentioning the temple. this is a reflection of Hyang Panca Dewata, uniting the five cardinal directions.

 

The senior official of Puri Ubud added that Gelgel's position as the center of Bali Island was also a consideration for the provincial government in determining the location for the construction of the Bali Cultural Center.


 

"Slowly we arrange so that the existence of this historic place can provide benefits for the welfare of the surrounding community in particular and Balinese manners in general," he concluded.

 

A positive response to this research activity was also conveyed by the Head of Paiketan Puri Puri Sejebag Bali (P3SB) Ida Dalem Semara Putra. He argues, the preparation of a purana is very important because it can provide an overview of the existence of a temple. Ida Dalem Semara Putra hopes that the results of the research conducted by the Unwar Research Team can serve as a guide for those who want to know about the Bhuana Gelgel Basic Temple.

 

Meanwhile, Prof. I Made Suwitra as the guide in the FGD event said that this research was an implementation of a grant from Unwar. The research was carried out for three years which were divided into three stages.

 

"In the first year we target to produce a report or book, the second year of the Puranas and the third year in the form of an inscription," he explained


He added that the FGD which was held this time was aimed at gathering input to improve the results of the research before being printed into books.

Meanwhile, the archaeologist Unwar Anak Agung Gede Raka, who was unable to attend, briefly explained the results of his research on the virtual existence of the Bhuana Gelgel Elementary Temple. He has noted various inputs given through the FGD to serve as the basis for improvements in the preparation of books, puranas and inscriptions.
