DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Governor of Bali Wayan Koster reviewed the Vaccination Declaration for 12-17 Years Old Children in the Province of Bali at SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar, Monday (July 5, 2021).

During this visit, Governor Koster said that according to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali Province should accelerate mass vaccination. Bali has a population of 4.3 million people. 70 percent or about 3 million people will be vaccinated.

To date, the first injection vaccination has covered more than 2.3 million people or 77 percent. But among these 3 million, there are those who are not allowed to participate in the vaccine, namely children aged 12-17 years, so they have not been able to reach the target of 3 million people.

The number of children aged 12-17 years in Bali is 520,000 people. To achieve this target, starting today, vaccination is carried out throughout Bali for junior high and high school / vocational students which is launched in all districts / cities in Bali. The target is that all junior high and high school / vocational school students participate in this vaccination program.

"I hope all the younger siblings tell their friends, let's get involved in the vaccine so that we are all healthy and not infected by Covid-19," he said.

Governor Koster also said that this vaccination target is no later than July 10, 2021, all middle and high school students aged 12-17 years have been vaccinated.

"I thank all of you who came this morning to take part in the vaccine. And don't be afraid because this is for the health of ourselves. Also, thank you to the health workers who have done their job well. Both from the Provincial Health Office Bali and the Bali Police, supported by theBali regional police chief ," he added.

He added that in districts/cities, the vaccination of junior high and high school children was led by the Regents/Mayors of Bali.

"This is a priority given by Mr. President Joko Widodo, Bali is given priority for mass vaccination. So that all 3 million Balinese people have been vaccinated and it is hoped that Bali will become a green zone to reduce the transmission of Covid-19. So that tourism and the economy in the future gratitude can bounce back, back to normal," he hoped.

Koster also asked these students to always apply strict health protocols even though they have been vaccinated.

"I ask you to follow the vaccinations in an orderly manner, always keep your distance, wear masks and don't crowd. When you're done, don't come home too crowded. "Because Bali and Denpasar, in particular, the rate of increase in the number of Covid-19 is quite high. So we really have to be careful, don't let our children get infected by Covid-19," he concluded.(gix)
