Bapok Commodity Supervision; Department of Industry and Commerce Bali Province Declares Safe Until the End of the Dear

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Bali Province Department of Industry and Trade is again monitoring the availability of basic necessities and parcels. This time monitoring was carried out in Denpasar City, on Friday (15 December 2023).

Trade Inspector for Consumer Protection and Orderly Commerce of the Bali Province Industry and Trade Department, I Wayan Pasek Putra, said that supervision in Denpasar City was the final location of supervision that had previously been carried out in Klungkung and Badung Regencies. He added that this monitoring was carried out to monitor the availability of goods and basic necessities ahead of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024. Basic necessities monitored included garlic, shallots, rice, cooking oil, flour and eggs.

Furthermore, I Wayan Pasek Putra said that based on monitoring carried out in several shopping centers, modern markets and traditional markets in Denpasar City, the need for basic commodities is still relatively safe, both in terms of stock or availability and distribution. However, he also explained that there were reports from traders, that there were several basic necessities in the field that were starting to be in short supply, including soybeans, this was due to delays in ships carrying the soybeans to distributors. However, these raw material suppliers are still trying to meet market needs, especially ahead of Christmas. Apart from that, the monitoring team also monitors the parcels sold for Nataru. "Regarding parcels, why are they being monitored because the law also mandates that consumers have the right to receive the goods they buy in accordance with the provisions, including the information in the parcel, it must be clear what the goods are and when they expire," Pasek Putra said.
This is in accordance with the mandate of the law, namely Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade, Minister of Trade Regulation Number 69 of 2018 concerning Supervision of Circulating Goods and Services and Minister of Trade Regulation Number 36 of 2018 concerning Implementation of Supervision of Trade Activities. Based on the results of monitoring carried out in three (3) regencies, namely Klungkung Regency, Badung Regency and Denpasar City, it was concluded that the availability of basic necessities was still sufficient until the end of the year. Meanwhile, prices are still fluctuating. Prices of basic necessities are still experiencing increases and decreases, but they are not significant. (Rls/Btnc)
