Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra Attending the Inauguration of the Timor Leste Consul General's Office

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Bali Province Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra representing The Acting Governor of Bali, attended the Inauguration of the New Building for the Consulate General of Timor Leste on Jl. Tukad Mas I No.4, Renon, Denpasar, Friday, (Sukra Kliwon, Tolu), January 19 2024.

 

With the inauguration of the new Timor Leste Consulate Building in Bali, according to Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra in his speech, it is not just a physical structure, but can be interpreted as a symbol of good and harmonious relations between the two governments. It is implied that there is a strong commitment from the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste to establish increasingly close and harmonious bilateral relations with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. "The choice of the Timor Leste Consulate General Office in Bali was of course a strategic consideration. We, the Bali Regional Government, are certainly very happy with the existence of the Timor Leste Consulate General Office in Bali," Regional Secretary Dewa Indra said.

 

Furthermore, Dewa Made Indra said that Indonesia and Timor Leste have close emotional cultural and historical relations. Therefore, he also invited the Timor Leste government and Indonesia, especially the Bali Provincial Government, to improve bilateral relations which have been going well so far. "Apart from being a tourist spot, I think Bali can be a place and means to introduce the potential that exists in Timor Leste. Likewise, Bali also has potential for plantations, agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries. This can be an opportunity for entrepreneurs in Timor Leste to take abundant Balinese products to market in Timor Leste. Opportunities for collaboration in the health and education sectors are also wide open, which we hope can be developed in the future. Because Bali also has universities/colleges that have good credibility, as well as health services, several hospitals that have facilities very good and of international standard," he concluded.

 

The same thing was also conveyed by the Consul General of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Aleixo da Silva, who also hoped that better cooperation would develop in the future. He also expressed his appreciation for the support of the Indonesian government, especially the Bali Provincial Government, so far. The inauguration event also appeared to be coupled with the signing of an inscription by the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão. (Rls/Btnc)
