Opening The Pamong Praja Tourism Police Training, Mahendra Jaya Asks to Monitor Government Policy at Tourist Destinations

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Acting Governor of Bali, S.M. Mahendra Jaya opened The Pamong Praja Tourism PoliceTraining, at BKPSDM Bali Province, Monday ( January 22, 2024).

This training was attended by 71 participants consisting of 40 members of The Pamong Praja Tourism Police Badung Regency   and 31 members of the The Pamong Praja Tourism Police  Bali Province .

The Acting Governor of Bali, S.M. Mahendra Jaya said that the existence of a Pamong Praja Police  specifically for tourism is very important in Bali considering that Bali is not only the main tourism destination in Indonesia but also the main tourism destination in the world. With the existence of The Pamong Praja Tourism Police
at tourist destinations in Bali, it is hoped that it can improve order, security and enforcement of regional regulations at tourism destinations. "We want to change the paradigm of Pamong Praja
police," Mahendra Jaya explained.. He wants
The Pamong Praja Police  to no longer be known as thugs and rioters but as regional representatives in maintaining humane order and security.

Mahendra Jaya asked the
The Pamong Praja Tourism Police , in addition to maintaining security and order at tourist destinations, to also provide information about what tourists can and cannot do at tourist destinations so that they can minimize violations committed by tourists, such as those which are  occurring frequently.

Moreover, the levy policy for foreign tourists will be implemented which will come into effect on February 14 2024. He requested that the special tourism Satpol PP be able to monitor government policies at tourist destinations in Bali. "Friends are part of what we ask to remind tourists to fulfill their obligations," he said. According to Mahendra Jaya, fees for foreign tourists cannot be made at the arrival gate when they arrive in Bali. So apart from advising foreign tourists to make payments before leaving for Bali, he also hopes that the fees can be paid at hotels or at tourist destinations in Bali. Apart from that, he also reminded that The Pamong Praja Tourism Police can maintain the good name of the Bali Provincial Government while on duty.
