The commemoration of June 1 as the Birthday of Pancasila and the Month of Bung Karno was organized by the Bali Provincial Government with the theme of the Movement of Pancasila Power (The Movement of Pancasila Power). The theme was translated into the colossal oratory and poetry theatricalization I See Indonesia, which is a poem by Bung Karno, which will be held at Art Centre, Ardha Chandra Taman Budaya, Saturday (June 1, 2019)

The Oratory will be witnessed by interfaith communities, Traditional Bandesa, Village Heads / Lurah, students, artists, community leaders, Provincial / District / City government officials, and people's representatives. The month of Bung Karno, which lasts a full month starting June 1, is the first large-scale Bung Karno Month celebration in Bali. In addition to being filled with various competitions involving students and young people, Bung Karno also performed a number of artistic performances, including the holding of drama scripts written by Bung Karno.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster revealed that the implementation of the Bung Karno Month had five main objectives. First, mainstreaming Pancasila in the lives of Balinese people in nation and state. Second, increasing Balinese people's understanding of history, philosophy and values of Pancasila. Third, strengthening social inclusion amidst the contestation of values (ideology) and interests which leads to a stronger tendency for identity politicization. Fourth, to arouse and maintain the collective memory of the Balinese people about the character and example of Ir. Soekarno as a digger of the Pancasila and the Proclamator of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Fifth, strengthen the institutionalization of Pancasila values in accordance with the local wisdom of the Balinese people.

"In June there were three historical events that were very important for the Indonesian Nation and all of them were related to Bung Karno. On June 1 we will commemorate the Birthday of Pancasila, on June 6 to commemorate the Birthday of Bung Karno, and on June 21 commemorate the Day of Death of Bung Karno, "he said.

The Birthday of Pancasila refers to Bung Karno's speech at the session of the Business Investigation Preparatory Board for Indonesian Independence (BPUPKI) on June 1, 1945. In the session which took place on May 29, the leaders of the Indonesian independence movement discussed a number of important matters, including the basic formulation of the country.

Discussions on the basis of the country did not find a bright spot until then it was Bung Karno's turn to give a speech. Bung Karno, who was only 44 years old, made a speech without using text. In his speech, Bung Karno proposed the basic formula of the state which he called Pancasila. All trial participants accepted the formula by acclamation. The speech was then recorded by BPUPKI and was given the title Birth of Pancasila by the former Chairperson of BPUPKI, KRT. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat. Pancasila itself was established by BPUPKI as the foundation of the Republic of Indonesia a day after the Proclamation of Independence.

"Bung Karno's life journey can be a role model for young people to dare to initiate positive and progressive social change. Bung Karno was extraordinarily brave, and at a young age had dared to fight colonialism until later he was arrested, imprisoned and exiled. But all of that has never dampened his intention to see his nation become independent, "Koster said.

"If our millennial generation can emulate the courage, intelligence and national spirit of Bung Karno, then be assured that Indonesia will become a great nation and country," concluded Koster.

The Bung Karno month held at Denpasar Cultural Park and the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar campus will begin with the 74th Anniversary of Pancasila on June 1 on the open stage of Ardha Chandra. The commemoration will be marked by a photo exhibition of Bung Karno and Diversity of Indonesia, and two important performances: theatricalization of poem "I See Indonesia" by Ibu Putri Suastini Koster and a colossal oratorium on the Pancasila Power Movement. The theater was directed by ISI Denpasar lecturer, Made Sidia.

"What we will perform is the manuscript written by Bung Karno entitled Koetkoetbi. On the surface, Koetkoetbi appears as a romance, but the substance is about how life will be beautiful when we dare to forget revenge, " Putu Satria said , a North Bali theater figure who directed the performance.
