Governor Koster Celebrates 118 Years The Birth of Bung Karno

June has an important meaning for the Indonesian people. In addition to the day of the Pancasila (June 1), also the birth of the Indonesian Nation's Proklamator and Founding Father, Sukarno (June 6).

For that, the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster on Thursday (June 6, 2019) will hold a commemoration ceremony of the 118th Anniversary of Bung Karno as well as the Idul Fitri 1440 Hijri Halal Bihalal at the Governor's Office of Bali, Jaya Sabha, Denpasar.

"The values ​​inherited from Bung Karno are very relevant we use today. "A cultured Godhead, unity, mutual cooperation and hard work are the keys to our common prosperity," Koster said.

Koster, who is also the Chairman  of the DPD  PDI Perjuangan Bali, then reminded how important it was to carry out Bung Karno's teachings in daily life.

"Of course the most important respect is to emulate and implement Bung Karno's ideas, thoughts, ideas and ideals for Greater Indonesia," he stressed.

Koster added, while the series of activities of the month of Bung Karno were filled with a photo exhibition of Bung Karno and Diversity of Indonesia, screening of Bung Karno's documentary, quiz competition and speeches of Bung Karno, art and cultural performances, and hospitality across religions.

The series of events will be closed on June 30, 2019 with theater performances based on drama script written by Bung Karno.

"The whole event was held at the Cultural Park and the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar campus," he said.

Koster added, the implementation of the Bung Karno Month was in line with the vision of the Bali Provincial Government, namely "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali “. Through the universal development pattern planning, which implies maintaining the sanctity and harmony of Bali's nature and its contents to manifest the lives of the Prosperous and Happy Balinese manners, Sekala-Niskara towards the life of Krama and Gumi Bali in accordance with the principles of Trisakti Bung Karno namely Political sovereignty, Economic Self-Reliance , and Personality in Culture through the development of patterned, comprehensive, planned, directed, and integrated in the frame of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila Values ​​of June 1, 1945.
