DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com – Bali Province Regional Secretary (Sekda) Dewa Made Indra assesses the importance of the presence of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) team which will carry out an assessment at Bali Mandara Hospital (RSBM) Bali, in order to make RSBM have international standards in 2025 will also raise Bali's name as a health tourism destination in the eyes of foreign tourists. This was conveyed by Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra when opening the International Accreditation by ACHS International event, taking place at RSBM, Denpasar, on Tuesday (July 23, 2024).
According to the bureaucrat from Pemaron Village, Buleleng, RSBM already has a plenary or highest level of accreditation at the national level. "However, the provincial government is demanding more because since its inception this hospital has not only served the local community, but also foreign tourists, especially since it is located in Sanur, in a tourist area," he explained to the media crew during an interview.
He said that the Bali Provincial Government is targeting international standards to be issued by 2025. "The accreditation process is ongoing and by 2025 we will have those standards (international-ed)," he added. Because it can increase the confidence of foreign tourists in getting health services at RSBM. "So this is also to convince foreign tourists, as well as raise the class of this hospital," he added.
He continued that the opportunities for health tourism in the future are increasing, especially considering that the trend of foreign tourist visits to Bali is also increasing, as is the quality of tourists which is also increasing. It cannot be denied, according to him, many people go on tourist trips to enjoy health services or what is known as Health Tourism. “So we seize this opportunity. "To seize this opportunity, RSBM must elevate itself so that the public, especially foreign tourists, will also believe in it," he explained.
Apart from that, he also hopes that in the future the people of Bali and Indonesia will not go abroad to get health services, because soon Bali will also have a hospital with international standards. In his report, the Director of RSBM, dr. I Gusti Ngurah Putra Dharma Jaya, M.Kes reported that RSBM already has international standards which include service quality, safety and patient satisfaction. However, it has not been accredited even though it has been done, so to increase international trust, accreditation is needed. Apart from that, he also revealed that RSBM is filled with cooperative and professional staff, but constructive input from assessors is also very necessary to improve the quality of the hospital. Meanwhile, Chair of the Assessor Team from ACHS, Timothy Gardner, said that ACHS is a trusted partner in improving the quality of health services for health organizations throughout the world. ACHS currently focuses on the quality of hospital services. Regarding RSBM, he also admitted that this hospital already has good standards, but to be trusted throughout the world, RSBM needs accreditation from a trusted organization." (Rls/Btnc)
