Bali Regional Secretary Encourages Children's Forums to Play an Active Role as Pioneers and Reporters

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Bali Province Regional Secretary (Sekda), Dewa Made Indra, invited the Bali Province Regional Children's Forum to play an active role as Pioneers and Reporters (2P) in commemoration of the 40th National Children's Day (HAN) which took place at the Nari Building Graha, Denpasar, Wednesday (July 31, 2024).
In this event, Dewa Made Indra read the remarks of the Acting Governor of Bali, S.M. Mahendra Jaya, who emphasized the important role of children in nation building. Dewa Made Indra emphasized that the Children's Forum must be an agent of change and inspiration for their friends. The role as a pioneer and reporter is expected to help convey obstacles or complaints regarding the fulfillment of children's rights and protection. The Regional Children's Forum is also asked to continue to actively participate in conveying their aspirations.
In his speech, S.M. Mahendra Jaya stated that child protection includes all activities to guarantee and protect children's rights so that they can live, grow, develop and participate optimally. He also emphasized the importance of protecting children from violence and discrimination, in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution Article 28B Paragraph (2). Based on the results of the 2010 population census, the number of children in Bali is around 1,296,000 people or around 30% of the Balinese population. There are around 3000 children in the orphanage. The implementation of the 40th National Children's Day (HAN) in Bali Province in 2024 is an important momentum for children's participation in nation building, where children's voices must be heard and respected. "Through the Bali Province Regional Children's Forum, we want to provide a forum for children to actively participate in development and convey their aspirations. In order to realize children's rights to participate, we have an obligation to equip the Children's Forum with various knowledge and skills," he added.
Head of the Bali Province Social Service and P3A, Luh Ayu Aryani, said that this activity aims to increase children's capacity regarding nationalism, diversity and brotherhood as well as strengthening children's character. Apart from that, this activity aims to increase the role of children as pioneers and reporters in fulfilling children's rights and protection while providing information and knowledge to increase children's capacity according to their talents, interests and abilities. The 40th National Children's Day in Bali Province was celebrated with welcoming dance performances, poetry readings and vocal exercises from the children of the Udyana Wiguna Children's Orphanage. The event was attended by representatives from various agencies such as OJK, PT. Bank BPD Bali, Bali Regional Police Chief, as well as all related Heads of Bali Province Regional Apparatus. Before leaving the event location, Dewa Made Indra invited the Head of Bali Province Regional Apparatus to review and purchase the work of disabled children on display in the Nari Graha area. He hopes that all parties will continue to be responsible for fulfilling children's rights, to achieve the goal, namely the welfare of Balinese children in particular and Indonesian children in general.
