BADUNG, Balitopnews.com - Bali and Beyone Travel Fair (BBTF) 2024 which took place at the Bali International Convention Center Nusa Dua, Thursday ( June  13,  2024) targeted transactions of IDR. 7.61 trillion.

BBTF, which is a series of offline Travel Exchange (Travex) activities, was opened by The Acting  Governor  of Bali  S. M. Mahendra Jaya. In his short remarks, Mahendra Jaya expressed his gratitude for organizing this activity which he said was extraordinary. "On behalf of the Regional Government, I would like to express my gratitude for holding the 10th BBTF which brought together sellers and buyers from various countries," he said.

He really understands that organizing an event of this size is not an easy thing. "Organizing activities like this requires enthusiasm, hard work and quite a lot of resources," he said.

Mahendra Jaya believes that this activity can bring many benefits to tourism actors and the wider community. Therefore, he hopes that BBTF will become an event that is held continuously. "Because as we know, Bali tourism can develop as it is today thanks to the role of various tourism stakeholders," he said. Still in his speech, he also reminded that the development of the tourism sector continues to prioritize efforts to preserve local wisdom which has become integrated with Balinese society. "Bali must be maintained. I don't want our children in the future to know about its natural beauty and cultural diversity only from documents such as pictures, videos or stories," he explained. Concluding his remarks, Mahendra Jaya informed about the economic conditions of the Bali Region which were getting better and had fully recovered after the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2023, Bali managed to record economic growth of 5.71 percent, exceeding the pre-pandemic economic growth rate of 5.6 percent. "Even in the first quarter of 2024, our economic growth will reach 5.98 percent," he stressed. He assessed that the improvement in the economic situation of the Bali Region cannot be separated from the recovery of the tourism sector which is driven by activities such as BBTF and other events. After opening Travex BBTF, Mahendra Jaya together with the Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Bali Province, Gusti Agung Diah Utari and accompanied by the Head of the Bali Tourism Department, Tjokorda Bagus Pemayun, inspected a number of exhibition stands. Apart from greeting the stand guard, he also reminded a number of things related to efforts to increase competitiveness, such as the importance of paying attention to product packaging.

For your information, the BBTF 2024 event which was opened on Wednesday (June 12, 2024) by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Pahala Mansury will last until Friday ( June  14,  2024).

Chair of the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (Asita) Bali who is also Chair of the BBTF 2024 Organizing Committee, I Putu Winastra, explained that this year's exhibition involved 370 buyers from 45 countries. The buyers came from countries in Europe, Africa, Australia and the United States. Meanwhile, there are 282 tourism package sellers participating in BBTF this year, including business actors from eight countries such as Nepal, Timor Leste, China, the United States, Malaysia, South Africa, Iran and Indonesia. Apart from that, there are 11 provinces in the country that participate as sellers, namely DKI Jakarta, NTB, West Java, Central Java, Riau Islands, Yogyakarta, NTT, Bangka Belitung, South Sulawesi and East Kalimantan. Winastra then added that BBTF participants were not only companies operating in the field of tourism, but also various other businesses involved in the fields of meetings/conferences (MICE), organizing activities (EO), wedding businesses (WO) and corporate segmentation. Apart from aiming to encourage the country's creative economy and tourism potential, this tourism exhibition is also intended to increase quality tourist visits. (Rls/Btnc)
