Collaboration Putri Koster-ISBI Tanah Papua Invites Deception to Amaze Visitors of Bali Art Festival

The XLI Bali Art Festival  (PKB) event this time feels special, besides the emergence of various innovations and opened directly by President Joko Widodo, Chairman of the TP PKK Bali Province, Putri Suastini Koster also had the opportunity to appear on stage to present her artistic talent.

 

This time the Governor of Bali's wife Wayan Koster, known as a multitalented artist, presented a poetry reading entitled 'I Papua' in music, dance and poetry performances in collaboration with the Indonesian Cultural Arts Institute (ISBI) in Papua at the Ayodya Stage, Taman Budaya Art Center on Sunday night ( June 16, 2019).

 

The show titled 'Nggo Bai Do Na Nggomar ’' means‘ If You Don't Sing and Dance We Will Die ’sucks in the curiosity of visitors to the Art Center when people dressed in Papuan clothing pull a raft along the Art Center river where  Suastini Koster.

 

 

The performance then turned to the Ayodya stage by being opened by the Isoholo dance. This typical Sentani dance describes joy as a symbol of harmony between tribes in Papua. The performance which lasted for two hours invited the audience to amaze by giving applause to the artists.

 

The 'I Papua' poem itself is a work of native Balinese sons, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rai, who happened to be currently the Chancellor of the ISBI Institute of Land in Papua. In his speech Prof. Rai said, the staging of 29 ISBI students and lecturers from the Land of Papua to Bali this time was part of a reciprocal visit from Ny's visit. Unfortunately, even after free arts and culture did not get a good ecosystem. According to him this is why there has been a lot of violence, radicalism and terrorism in a number of regions in Indonesia.

 

That's why Governor Koster reorganized the Bali Arts Festival at the beginning of his reign. He wants PKB to truly become a real party for Balinese people. Therefore, he greatly appreciated the participation of the ISBI in Tanah Papua to enliven this 2019 Bali Arts Festival XLI.
